Asher's POV

The sun coming from the window made her features look bright and beautiful. Somehow, she manages to look even more like an angel in her sleep.

The best part about this whole ordeal was the fact that I get to wake up to her in my bed every morning.

Living the dream.

Somehow I managed to convince her that it would be best to permanently move to my room. I just told her some made up story about how we would be living together and how we should get used to it. She didn't make any attempts to argue.

My real reason was the fact there's obviously a war brewing. I want to be with her, always, but I know that's impossible. I'll be with her as often as I can though, which includes sleeping with her.

Sleeping with her. I respected the fact that we were taking our relationship slow, but I couldn't help wondering when the time for us to make love would come. In all honesty, I'm a little nervous. She told me that she's not a virgin, unlike me, and I'm scared she won't think I'm good enough. Carter is always blunt with everyone, and I guess I'm just scared I'll embarrass myself. I mean, what's more embarrassing than not being able to fulfill your mates needs?

I don't think she understands how sweet she looks when she sleeps. When she's awake she always has a sarcastic aura around her, but in her sleep she's pure.

I can't wait to taint this pure angel in front of me.

I've seen my fair share of attractive ladies, but Carter is something else completely. She's on a completely different level.

Things in the pack have been fairly quiet all week. Occasionally we would find a few rouge in the forest, but when brought into questioning no one seemed willing to talk.

The plan was simple. Get rid of as many rouges as possible before a war starts. Hopefully we can kill enough of them without having to go to war. If a war does end up starting, our fighters are well prepared. Right now we have no idea on the rouges numbers or skill level, but we're preparing for the worst.

I got out of bed and showered. Today I had some plans with Carter, so I needed to get some work done before she woke up.

With these recent attacks and graduation coming up, I'll barley have time for myself.

And when I say for myself I mean alone time with Carter.

After showering, I went down the hall to my dad's office. He's been pressuring me about all the paperwork and phone calls that have been building up.

Most of the time people just call to ask favors, but sometimes other packs call to talk business. It's hard to get the other alphas to respect me because I'm younger than most of them. They think that since I haven had much experience I don't understand what's going on. One day I'll show them. Until then Ill have to sign the various papers and forms.

The paperwork varies from paychecks to the fascinating request forms from pack members.

Note the sarcasm.

God work is boring.

I looked up when I heard the knocks on the door. It definitely wasn't Carter because I would be able to feel her presence.

I tried not to sound disappointed when I told them to come in.

Ashley crossed the room and sat in the chair across my desk. When we were kids, Ashley and I were best friends. As I grew up, I stopped having much time to hang out with her. I think that might be apart of the reason she hates Carter so much because Carter can gain my attention with every little thing she does, even something at little as sneezing.
