The next morning at breakfast, the tension was thick and palpable.

I sat down and started covering my plate in food. Some serious conversation was going on and I didn't want to disturb them.

I was only here for the food.

I'm guessing that by walking into the room, I interrupted whatever conversation Macon and Asher were having.

They were both staring at me as I ate.

This is awkward.

"Uh, I'm sorry, can I help you?"

"No."

Damn Asher, are you on your period?

I blinked a few times before I continued eating. Thankfully, Macon and Asher started talking again.

"Your up early today Carter." Macon commented.

"I have to leave early because I'm walking to school today."

With Jay in the hospital, I had no one to give me rides in the morning. Jay should be fine soon, but he was the person who took me everywhere.

"Do you need a ride again?"

Of course Asher would offer me a ride.

"No, I'm fine with just running there."

And I was. I haven't gotten a chance to let my wolf out that much since I've been here.

The rest of breakfast went in with minimal conversation. Asher didn't seem to be affected by the kiss. He didn't bring it up, which I was thankful for because his dad was sitting right next to him.

After breakfast I grabbed my bag, went outside, and started walking towards the forest.

"Carter! Let's go!"

What part of the fact that I didn't need a ride didn't this kid understand?

"I don't need a ride, thanks."  I didn't turn around and I kept walking.

Eventually Asher caught up with me and grabbed my arm.

"Really Carter, I'll give you a ride."

"Really Asher, I don't want a ride."

Asher blinked at me a few times before picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.

What the fvck?

"Asher, put me down! What the hell is wrong with you?"

I was hitting his back, but it didn't seem to faze him.

"I'll just give you a ride."

"Dude! I don't want you to take me to school! And if we leave now I'm going to be super early."

"It's fine, I wanted to talk to you anyway."

This has to be some form of kidnapping.

"It's against all the rules of feminism to let you do this to me. You are literally taking me against me will."

"It wouldn't be against your will if you hadn't been difficult."

"This has to be illegal."

I sighed because there was nothing I could do to make him leave me alone.

When we got to his car he finally put me down and opened my door for me.

Well, since we're being civil...

I got in the car, still pissed off about what had happened. Asher got into the drivers side and started driving. He went the opposite direction of the school so I had no idea where he was taking us.
