Olivia didn't get in contact with Elliot that night, she just dealt with the bleeding by herself because she didn't want to lean on Elliot too much. Especially since he isn't her husband nor the father of her babies.

When he arrived the next morning, he found that Olivia wasn't in the room he left her in. He quickly walked to the nurse's station as he grew worried.

"Excuse me..." Elliot breathed. A nurse turned around and looked at him before sighing softly.

"May I help you?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm looking for Olivia Benson? She was in that room last night, but it's empty now." Elliot frowned.

"How are you related to her?" The nurse mused, as she kept her eyes glued to Elliot.

"I'm her best friend and her new emergency contact. I was here with her last night, and I'd like to see her. Please." Elliot sighed softly.

"She took a turn for the worse last night. We moved her to a more quiet part of the floor for her to rest."

"A turn for the worse? What happened?" Elliot asked, as tears welled in his eyes.

"She started to bleed. It's touch and go right now for the babies." The nurse replied. Elliot's eyes went wide before asking for the room number, and once he got it he went running to her room.

Olivia was sleeping when Elliot got to her room. He slipped quietly into the room before shutting the door. He moved slowly over to the bed before looking at the monitors that were connected to Olivia. He heard the steady beeping of Olivia's heartbeat, but the beeping of the twins' hearts was slow.

"I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Liv. You keep getting hurt over and over again, and I feel like this one will really break you." Elliot whispered. He sank down onto the chair beside her bed, before gently caressing her hair. He did that for awhile before Olivia's eyes opened slowly.

"El?" She croaked out.

"Hey, honey. Why didn't you call me last night? I would have stayed all night long to make sure you weren't alone." Elliot breathed, as he gave her a gentle smile.

"I started to bleed after you left... it's the reason why I made you leave. I didn't want you to see me in that position." Olivia whispered, as she kept her eyes focused on Elliot and not the monitors behind him. At any moment, those two slow heartbeats could stop altogether, and she didn't want to witness it.

"Liv-"

"At this point, the doctor said we are kinda just waiting for the babies to pass. No one believes that they will make it, and that's why I'm down here. So I can grieve away from the sounds of newborn babies." Olivia breathed.

"That-"

"I have prayed more in the last twelve hours than I have my whole life, Elliot. I want these babies to survive, but no one thinks they will. I'm going to lose my son and daughter, and I will never have babies again. I don't want too."

"Do you want me to call Kathy? Or Trevor?"

"Trevor is with Pippa Cox... did you not see them walking around together? She's younger than me. Prettier than me. And she's not me. He doesn't want to be around me and that will never change. So, please don't bring him up."

"I won't... but what about my wife? Kathy-"

"Can you just stay here? I need you, El."

"I'm not leaving you, Olivia. I will always be here for you, no matter what."

Not a lot changed that day. The babies were still weak, and Olivia was still bleeding a little bit. Elliot stayed with her and held her hand and prayed with her. They talked about Quintin and Robbie, but didn't bring up the twins again. Olivia wanted to just prepare to move on, and especially since everyone had lost hope.

Olivia sent Elliot home around the time he would be having dinner with his family, so she was alone again. She had just finished her own dinner, when a light knock sounded on the door.

"Elliot Stabler, I sent you home. So actually leave. Go see your family." Olivia grumbled.

"I passed him on my way in. He went home to Kathy and the kids."

Olivia's eyes went wide as she heard the voice. It was Trevor's, and she was beyond shocked to know that he was there.

"Can you come over onto this side? I'm not supposed to roll over." Olivia breathed.

"Uh, yeah. I can do that." Trevor spoke awkwardly. He walked around the bed and sank down onto the chair in front of her.

"What are you doing here? I thought that you wanted nothing to do with me." Olivia sighed.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you. I watched you fall, and it broke my heart. We may not be together or in love anymore, but I do not want you to get hurt or anything."

"I will never stop loving you Trevor, but that might be because I was the only one of us that was in love during our marriage." Olivia frowned.

"How are the twins? Robbie and Quintin?" Trevor asked awkwardly.

"They aren't doing good... the twins nor the boys."

"Do they know if the babies will make it?" Trevor asked, as he looked at Olivia's exposed stomach. He could still see her when she was pregnant with Quintin, and how he couldn't stop himself from always placing his hand against her belly to feel his son kick and squirm.

"They don't think that they will. But that really doesn't matter to you. Nothing but Pippa Cox matters to you." Olivia grumbled.

"What? Pippa and I-"

"Can you please just leave? I don't need this right now. All I can think about is losing our son and daughter... my son and daughter." Olivia whimpered. Tears welled in her eyes, and she wanted to scream because she hated that she was going to cry in front of Trevor.

"A daughter? We are... You are getting a daughter. That's amazing, Liv. Congrats." Trevor whispered.

"I will never get to hold these babies, Trevor! So don't congratulate me! And leave me alone! I don't want anything to do with you! Just like you don't want anything to do with me!" Olivia sobbed.

Trevor leaned closer to Olivia and kissed her forehead gently before shaking his head.

"I'm not going to leave your side until we know what is happening okay?"

"And what then? What if the twins live? Then will you just up and leave us again?"
