Trevor didn't know what to say after his wife told him that she really couldn't believe what he said. So he just left the house with the grocery list and left his wife and son at home.
"Mama!" Quintin exclaimed as he walked quickly down the stairs before sprinting towards his mother and baby brother.
"Hey, Quinny." Olivia smiled weakly as Robbie quickly reached his arms out to his brother.
"Mama, he missed me." Quintin smiled as he looked at his baby brother and grabbed his hand before kissing it softly.
"Of course he did. He loves you, Quinny."
"Are you okay, Mama?" Quintin questioned, as he grabbed his mother's free hand and walked up the driveway together.
"I'm fine, love."
"No, you aren't... Mama, you are sad and I don't like it." Quintin frowned as he stopped by the open garage door. Olivia let go of his hand before sighing softly.
"Quintin, what is happening to me is a problem that I need to deal with myself. You need to focus on being a kid and a big brother. Okay?"
"Is there a baby in your belly?" Quintin asked suddenly, and Olivia eyed him quietly.
She didn't speak for a few minutes before finally nodding.
"Yeah. Two babies... and Daddy and I aren't doing great because of a lot of stuff. But because of them too... I love them, Quintin. Just like I love you and Robbie too." Olivia explained quietly.
"I will be a good big brother to all three of my baby siblings. I promise." Quintin smiled softly, before moving his small hand to his mother's stomach.
"Thanks, Quintin. That is one last thing to worry about."
"Where's Daddy? I'll talk to-"
"No, Quintin. That is between me and Daddy. Like I said... focus on just getting through school and being an amazing big brother."

Trevor got home after doing all the grocery shopping. He came home and unloaded the van, before letting his wife put stuff away. He went and changed Robbie's diaper without even being asked, before settling into Quintin's room and watched him do his homework while Robbie played on the rug.
"Daddy?" Quintin sighed softly, as he looked up from his math worksheet and eyed his father.
"Yes?"
"Do you love the twins?" Quintin asked, and Trevor looked at his son with confused eyes. He didn't expect for Olivia to tell Quintin about the twins when she wasn't even to twelve weeks yet.
"The twins?"
"The ones in Mama's belly. She told me about them."
"Oh. Yeah, I guess."
"You guess? Daddy, what about Robbie?"
"What about Robbie?" Trevor sighed.
"Do you love him? Because Mama said I shouldn't worry about what's happening, but this is the first time I've seen you hold Robbie or play with him in awhile." Quintin sighed.
"This is none of your business, Quintin!" Trevor snapped, and Quintin went silent as he turned back to his worksheet.
Trevor swallowed hard as he raked his fingers through his hair before standing and leaving his sons together. He walked down the hall and stopped when he saw his wife wiping tears from her cheeks as she finished unpacking and putting the groceries away.
He slowly walked into the kitchen before holding onto the edge of the counter.
"So I think that I'm going to get my job back and find a place to stay." Trevor spoke suddenly.
"What?" Olivia asked weakly as she turned around.
"I just yelled at our son for asking me questions. And I think that it would be the best for us to be actually separated. Not living under the same roof."
"Trevor-"
"No. We can stay faithful to each other, but that is all I'm doing for this marriage for awhile. I'll be out before Quintin gets home tomorrow." Trevor spoke before turning and heading to pack.
///
Trevor really meant what he said. He packed up and left the house long before Quintin got home. He got his job back and started to rent an apartment near his office. Being separated was hard, but their lives were both stressfree without the other around them all the time.
"Hey." Trevor spoke, as he came over two weeks after he moved out. Olivia was finishing up making dinner, before having to run into the precinct to work on a case.
"Hey. Uh, Quintin is in his room taking a nap. He came home at noon with a stomach ache and got sick. He has been able to keep food down, but still doesn't feel like eating a lot. So just give him the broth from this soup, and give Robbie his baby food." Olivia spoke, as she wiped her hands off on the towel before taking her apron off.
Trevor nodded before looking his wife over and seeing where her stomach had grown a bit in the last two weeks.
"How are the twins?" He asked, as Olivia started to get bowls out for dinner. She didn't want Trevor to get pissed off because he couldn't find the bowls in her newly organized kitchen.
"Oh, they are fine. Still growing. But I don't have time to argue about them or anything. So please call me once the kids are down for the night and give me an update on Quintin, okay?"
"Liv-"
"Trevor, please. I gotta get going. I don't have time right now."
"Okay, go. But we need to talk when you get home."
"Don't worry, you won't be here when I get home. Lucy will be. She's watching the boys tomorrow."
///
Quintin, even if he wasn't feeling good at all, still managed to be surprised when his father woke him up.
"What are you doing here, Daddy?" Quintin asked, as Trevor helped his little boy out of his bed before grabbing the bucket beside his bed just in case.
"Mama had to go to work so I'm taking care of you and Robbie tonight." Trevor replied, as they left his bedroom and headed towards the kitchen where Robbie was sitting and slamming his hands against his highchair since he was hungry and not being fed.
"Oh... I can take care of Robbie... you don't have to stay." Quintin breathed, and Trevor quickly shook his head as he looked at his son.
"You are seven, Quintin. I'm not leaving you here alone with your brother. It's my job to take care of you both, so that's what I'm going to do."
