Trevor continued to caress his wife's capped head as they waited for their son to be born. Trevor kept watching as his wife winced from the tugging, and he hated that he couldn't do anything other than just caress her head and tell her that he loved her.

"You are being so brave, Liv." Trevor cooed softly, as he leaned down closer to his wife's ear.

"This is so uncomfortable..." Olivia whimpered.

"I bet... but you are doing great. I'm sure that Dr. O'Neal will have Robbie out soon. I can't wait to see his chubby little cheeks and how sweet he is." Trevor spoke.

"We won't be able to see him, Trev. They are taking him to the NICU as soon as he's out. And he's early, Trev. He is not going to be a butterball like Quinny."

"But he'll be ours. And that is all that matters." Trevor replied softly.

"Okay, he's almost here, Olivia!" Dr. O'Neal exclaimed, as she glanced over the sheet and at her patient.

"I wish that I could meet him before he's whisked off." Olivia sniffled.

"We will show you plenty of pictures, Olivia. We will take as many as you want." Dr. Rivers spoke as he moved beside Dr. O'Neal and took Robbie from her as soon as he was born.

He didn't cry, and his face was blue. Dr. Rivers rushed Robbie off to the side to try and get him breathing and to save the little boy's life for the first time.

About an hour after Robbie was born, his mother and father were reunited in his mother's room. Olivia was supposed to stay in bed for a few days to recover and hopefully by that point she could be eased off the pain medication that Dr. O'Neal had prescribed.

"Hey there, beautiful." Trevor spoke, as he walked into Olivia's room.

"Hi." Olivia whispered.

"How are you doing?" Trevor asked, and Olivia frowned as she reached out and grabbed her husband's hand once he reached her bedside.

"Not great... I miss him." Olivia frowned.

"Was he doing flips this morning?" Trevor asked, and Olivia nodded slowly.

"He took after his big brother in the movement department... Trevor, can we talk?" Olivia breathed.

"I thought we were already doing that." Trevor teased.

"Are we staying together? Because I told Dr. Rivers that Robbie was more than likely going home with you... and only you once he's healthly enough to leave." Olivia spoke.

"Robbie is going to be brought home by both of us. He will be loved by both parents and his big brother... He won't grow up in a broken family, okay?"

"But we got into a huge fight and we both got really hurt..." Olivia whispered.

"And I regret what I said. You were just trying to protect our son, and I don't blame you for that. And I'm so sorry for not allowing you to see Quintin or talk to him for more than fifteen minutes."

"I miss my little guy." Olivia sniffled. Trevor nodded slowly before leaning close and pressing a soft kiss to his wife's cracked lips.

"I'll go home and get him."

"Talk to Dr. O'Neal first... I want to get permission."

"Do you want to wait till tomorrow morning? You'll have several hours of recovery under your belt already and maybe a getting sleep will make you more prepared to see Quinny."

"Who's with him?" Olivia asked quietly.

"My parents have him. So do you want me to stay tonight? I can pull a chair up and crash right here or on that couch." Trevor smiled, and Olivia nodded slowly before looking at her husband.

"I wish you could lay with me... because I need to feel safe and comfortable right now... and loved." Olivia whimpered. Trevor had to resist crawling into bed with his wife since she just had major surgery, so he just pulled his chair closer before resting his forehead against her temple.

"You are so loved, Olivia. Trust me... I feel so much better being with you."

The next morning while Trevor was going to pick up Quintin and bring him up to the hospital, Olivia was taken down to the NICU to see Robbie for the first time. He had made it through his first surgery and now had two other ones left before he would be allowed to be released.

"Alright, so Robbie is hooked up to a ton of tubes and he has a large incision on his chest. It will be a hard sight to see, but just remember that your son is alive and we are helping him." Dr. Rivers spoke, as a nurse helped Olivia get into a sterile gown, a mask, and a pair of gloves.

"Do you know when I'll be able to hold him?" Olivia asked weakly, as she blinked away tears.

"You won't be able to hold him for awhile, Olivia. But babies recover quickly. They bounce back faster than adults. I'm hoping that he gets stronger over the next few days so we can do part two of the surgery."

"Okay." Olivia whispered. The nurse pushed Olivia's wheelchair into the NICU and to where Robbie was laying in his incubator. The NICU had about twelve other babies with exhausted and overwhelmed parents sitting beside them. Robbie wasn't any different.

Olivia looked into the incubator and tears slipped down her cheeks and soaked into her mask as she looked at her baby boy. He was small and he looked even smaller since he was hooked up to more machines than Olivia had seen in one space since Trevor was sick.

"Hey there, Robbie... I'm your Mama and I love you so very much. I hope that you recognized my voice... because I have talked to you for so many hours that you have become like my best friend... I love you, Robbie, and Daddy loves you too. Oh, and we can't forget about Quintin. Quinny cannot wait to meet you and be your big brother."

"You can put your hand inside and touch him if you'd like." Dr. Rivers spoke, and Olivia's eyes went wide.

"I don't want to hurt him..."

"You won't hurt him. He might want to hold your finger. He's gotta miss you just as much as you missed him."
