"I'll protect you. I'll be here with you. Even if you aren't here with me."

The lighter brunette in the room was wrapped up like a burrito with the olders blanket hugging him. The wall was his support. His brown eyes were threatening to close but the TV's speakers projected around Josh's room, keeping him aware of his surroundings. Videos of skaters were playing from YouTube. A teen was showing a trick while others either cheered or minded their own business. Josh was to the left of Tyler, leaning on the headboard. When the video ended, Josh sat up and paused it so the next video wouldn't play as he talked, "I learned that."
"I was close to learning it." The blanket talked, "I just couldn't get my board straight."
Josh hummed. "I can show you if you want."
"Right now?"
"If you want."
"Maybe later. Your bed's comfy." Tyler could tell Josh was a little heart broken from that response but saw him try to brush it off. Truth was that Tyler would most likely pass out trying to get on a skateboard.
"Oh yeah. It is, isn't it?" Josh let his body fall backwards, making the bed bounce. Tyler hummed in response. It was peacefully silent for awhile until Josh said, "Did you know that cat's can be allergic to humans?"
Tyler raised an eyebrow. "How?"
"Like to our hair. I think it can also be from our clothes or perfume. But its still pretty funny to think about."
"Yeah. That must be pretty embarrassing for the cat."
Josh's eyes crinkled at the corners. "Cats can legit get embarrassed."
Tyler put his hands up in disbelief and let them hit his knees. "My whole life is a lie."
"Same! You would think I would have learned this from school but no, its just google."
Tyler chuckled. "Fuck school. Who needs it when there's google."
"Honestly."
His eyes widened. "I wasn't expecting you to agreed with me but okay. Go off."
"No but if the internet ever gets shut down we would be dumb as fuck."
"True. But also, Josh, you need to get away from me because you just swore."
"I did?"
Tyler breathed out. "You didn't notice?"
"No."
Tyler clapped his hands. "Dude, seriously, find a new friend."
"Are you lying?"
"No. You legit said fuck."
"No I didn't."
"Yes you did! Josh, face it. You are turning to the dark side."
"Shut up. No I am not."
"Oh my God, gettin' a little harsh there, bud."
Josh rolled his eyes. "You're annoying. Maybe I will find a new friend."
"Rude."
The room got quiet again. Their eyes met one another. It felt weirdly peaceful. Tyler hadn't felt peaceful with someone else in forever. He tried to think about it and couldn't even remember the last time he did. The search in his mind was cut off by Josh's gasping.
"What?" Tyler asked, feeling a tickle in his nose. He sniffed and felt warm liquid drip from his nose. The sanguine color stained the blanket quickly. "Fuck- Fuck, I'm sorry."
