Rays from the sun were pouring in Josh's room without Tyler inviting it. The brightness hit the back of his closed eyelids and disturbed his attempt at trying to continue to sleep. He let out a tired groan and put an arm over his face. The blue sweatshirt that Josh let him borrow yesterday remained wrapped around his small frame. Tyler breathed in the scent, deciding it was a good smell without much thought.
The heavy arm over his face did a fine job with blocking out the light but once his mind woke up he felt the pain in his face. The black eye was spread across the boy's face like a watercolor painting on a peice of paper. It was no bigger than the size of a fist but it hurt like hell when it was touched. As for the rest of him, everything else ached a little more than usual. It was bad enough to where he didn't want to move.
The tired boy stayed frozen there for awhile, listening to the household he was in. It was completely silent besides the fact that birds sang outside. This was already by far better than his own home.
Anxiety shot through him and he blindly patted the bed around him, searching for his phone. He found it at his feet and lazily pushed it with his foot until his fingers could reach it. He squinted at the screen, seeing missed calls and messages from his family.
"What the fuck?" The teen blurted out when he read the time.
"What?"
Tyler lowered the phone from his face. Josh's body faced the wall to Tyler's right, with acception of his head looking at the boy lying in his bed. He was sitting at the desk that was a few feet away from the bed. He wore headphones that were connected to the open laptop in front of him and a half filled note book lied next to that. A black pen was in the curly headed boy's hand as he lifted one side of the headphones off his ear to hear better.
Tyler continued with a raspy voice. "You really just let me sleep until 2:30?"
"I tried to wake you up awhile ago but you went back asleep. Even if I did wake you up again you wouldn't really have anything to do since I am just working on this."
"Hm," The other rubbed his face. "I guess you're right."
Josh went back to his school work as Tyler starred at the ceiling. His eyes burned from being tiredness and eventually he was asleep again. Not long after, Josh was tapping the sleeping teen's shoulder.
"Hey, Ty, wake up."
The mentioned sucked in a breath and rolled to his side. He mumbled, "What do you want?"
"I have to get my siblings from school again. I'm gonna get ready so I thought you should wake up so you can too."
Tyler exhaled. "Okay."
"Do want to borrow some clothes again? Unless you so desire to wear sweats all day."
"Its not a bad idea but, yeah, I'll take some."
"K. Imma go get ready. You just... wake up."
"Roger that."
As the bathroom door closed Tyler opened his eyes. He sighed. He really didn't want to get up but he pushed his sore body up into a sitting position. He didn't move until Josh came out ready for the day. Tyler slowly got out of Josh's bed. He felt like an old grandpa with arthritis. His socked feet landed on the blankets that were on the floor. Josh slept there last night so Tyler could have his bed.
The tired brunet locked the door behind him. After taking a piss, he stopped to look at the full length mirror on the one side of the wall. The light gray sweatpants he wore were also Josh's. The two articles of clothing were slightly big on him. Tyler sighed at himself and grabbed the yellow toothbrush Josh also generously gave him.
