Brinley

"Cal, let's just spilt up. I'll just go upstairs and you look down here, plus it would give me time to freakout at him up there and no one will be the wiser." I say as I pull him off to the side.

"Okay, be safe little one." Calum said.

I shifted through the groups of people through the halls and skip up the steps to try and find the blonde headed boy who ruined my school experience. The music dimed down, and the chatter wasn't loud. As I crept up the hallway and started to hear people having a rather loud conversation/ I peak around the corner, trying not to be seen.

"I know, but you still owe me the money, Lucas. I dont think you know how powerful my name is in this city, I can crash your fathers company down faster than a cookie can crumb." I couldn't quite see who the person was but their voice was high, like a girl's voice.

"Whatever, just give me more time, okay?" He sounded annoyed, which I would agree if someone was constantly on my back about money.

Shit.

Ashton.

I know that the person wasn't Ashton because their voice was far too high to be a males, it was too feminine.

"One week, Luke. One week or you and your family is done." She brushed shoulders with him and proceeded to walk towards me.

I freaked out and didn't know where to turn. I thought quickly, turning around and thought of a stupid idea as I starred at the table in front of me and grabbed the fancy vase. I picked up the blue solo cup from the floor with the other hand and pushed the flowers from the vase and poured the flower water into the cup.

"Fucking Hemmings." I hear the person whisper to herself as she starts to come closer to me. "Holy shit." She gasps from behind me.

I turn around to face the unknown character who seemed like a big headed narcisist.

"Oh, it's just you Brinley Reynolds. You scared me."

"Sav?" I harshly whisper like as if she was a gross food.

"You didn't hear that, right?" She said. She looked pretty upset, it was weird considering how rude she was to Luke.

I didn't respond.

"Shit, okay." She whispers. "Just don't say anything, please?"

I knew right here and now I can either cover Savannah or protect Luke. I'm one to get back at people quite constantly, but not like this.

"Alright."

"Thank you." She says.

She looks at me before brushing by me and skipping down the stairs fairly quick.

I poured the dirty water in the plant pot across the hall and threw the solo cup on the ground. I started to search for Luke again but he wasn't in the hallway. I looked in the rooms, accidentally stumbling into couples making followed by multiple "sorry!" 's

The last door at the end of the hall had to be Luke's room. I hesitated, hovering my hand over the door knob. I was scared for two reasons. What if he threatened me like Savannah did with him but also what if I don't even want to know the information.

I burst in. Luke was kneeled down like he was searching for something in the bookshelf.

"Brin? What the hell? Why are you here?" He shifted himself in front of papers he hid behind his back.

"Listen, I need info and we need to talk about it." I said.

"So talk." I could sense that he was nervous.

"Okay. I need to know what happened with you and Ashton."

"I told you I can't tell you, Brinley." He sat on the bed, inviting me over as well.

"Hemmings, I swear to god. You know me too well to be doing this." I pulled that card. I didn't want to, but he's full of it. He talks the talk but when it comes to the real thing he doesn't fight back.

"Brin-"

"I know he paid you to break up with me."

His eyes widen and suddenly went red. He didn't let a word out, his jaw a frozen.

"You never did love me, did you?" I raised my voice.

"Brinley-"

"You didn't did you?" I stood from the bed and looked down at him. "13 months, Lucas, 13!" I shout. "Would have been 14 if you waited one more day, you broke up with me a day before our anniversary!"

He walked towards to the door, shutting it.

"One day, Luke." I was in complete distress.

He looked a little confused, but pissed and quickly made his way toward me.

"So I deserve an explanation-"

I was cut off, by the force of his hands gripping the nape of my neck. He brushed my lips and forced himself on me.

"Luke-"

He brought one finger to his lips and shushed me. He tastes like mint lip balm and vodka. We backed into the bed and he hovered over my body. I know it's wrong but I didn't want to stop. I think he was making up for all those hurtful months I spent crying over him. I ran my finger down his cheek as we moved slowly.

"I'm sorry." He whispered. His lips never left mine, over breaths were heavy.

"I am too."
