Ashton

"No, mate. What I'm saying is that you're like- I dunno- fucking whipped." She spat.

"What the hell do you mean by that?' I followed Savannah around the music store, as she walked away from the pop punk section, into the rock-alternative section to return the CD's into their original placement.

"Little rat kids, putting punk rock in the alternative section." She whispered under her breath and she picked up more cd's in the wrong place, along the way. "You know they come back almost every week and rearrange the CD's into the "right" placement, but they don't know the first thing about music-" She started to get very angry, and very off topic.

"Okay, calm down. They're just some dumb kids, Vanna." I reassured her. She always got to stressed over nothing, she's just used to getting it handed to her on a silver platter- actually scratch that, a gold platter that her daddy will import from Italy just for her. She came from a very rich background, and loves to flaunt it around in her Arizona-American accent.

"But all I'm saying is that, maybe you should just, I dunno-"

"You sure say I dunno for someone who claims to know a lot of things." I tracked behind her further more.

"Just give her some space, maybe she needs time to breath- a getaway, perhaps?"

"I have been giving her space. Are you kidding me, Van? We haven't talked in ages, unless we start bickering about fucking Luke. Like I don't understand why she doesn't just cut him out of her life. One day she hates him the next she's fucking him at-"

"She fucked him?" She dropped the handful of CD's in er hand onto the filthy, black carpet. Interrupting me, and looking me dead in the eye.

"Anyway, I just don't know what she wants anymore." I completely ignored her last question. I thought she would have known by now, but clearly she wasn't as close with Brinley as she says.

"You know Brinley. She's hard to read" --she doesn't even know the half of it-- "and shes moody --if only she knew-- "but she will come around, Ash."

"But when? It's been forever, a month almost." I raised my voice, getting shushed by Savannah as she kneeled onto the bottom shelf of the vinyls, ordering them into place.

"I think you need to calm down." She rushed into the back of the store and I did the same. "I'm off, like right now. Let's go get stoned." She opened the door to the break room. I couldn't follow because she was going to get changed, I suggested but she refused. I didn't want to do drugs to get my mind off of the situation. There was nothing I could do to get her off of my mind, and drugs certainly is never the answer.

"Michael!" Savannah bursts into Micheal's house, calling him from the bottom of the stairs. It took only a couple of shouts later until he would come down. His hair was a different colour, a nice dark blue. He looked like he has been in bed all day. Probably gaming because he's Michael. "Ashton wants to buy drugs from you." She blurted.

"I never said that. I said I DON'T want to buy drugs from anyone." I corrected her. Sometimes with Sav, she just never listens and I'm not too sure why we really brought her into the group because she's not really like us, she was actually popular at one point in her life. And the rest of us never really were, I guess, minus Brinley. She's kind of popular but doesn't like to admit it because she hates the title.

"You wanna get high?" His raspy voice said, from all the way up the stairs.

She nodded, I shook my head.

"Can I come with?" Michael cocked an eyebrow.

We all sat in a circle- or triangle I guess because there was only thee of us. We were in the middle of a football field, behind Calums property. They said that we should invite him to join, but Calum would rather quit football than smoke a joint.

"Trust me, I'm good." I refused to smoke pot with them because I didn't want to smoke anything, not even a cigarette because that would make the memories worse. I batted away Micheal's hand as he blew out in a thick cloud of opaque smoke.

"You're missing out, bud."

"Have you guys talked to Brin lately?" I finally asked the question, after behind constantly annoyed with these two all day.

Savannah shook her head as she took the joint from Micheal's fingers.

"She came over earlier." Michael said, watching Sav.

"Wait- what? When?"

"Yeah, early today, mate. She bursted through my window, randomly. She wanted a pack and I agreed, I asked to come and she said no because she was going to see Luke sometime or something. That's all."

"Are you sure that's all?"

"Yeah, why? Is there something wrong with you two of something?" He asked. Michael was so out of the loop it was hard to bring him back in. We never really told him about stuff, and he constantly tells us how he hates that he thinks he's being pushed out. But none of us want to worry him, he's been through so much he doesn't deserve another thing on his mind.

"I gotta go." I got up from the grassy field, not bothering to dust myself off from the fresh cut grass.

"Where you going, mate?" Michael yelled, but I was already half way down the field towards the parking lot. I stomped across the wet grass, beyond annoyed right now.

"Places." I shouted back at them. They looked ridiculous sitting there in the middle of a pool of grass. But I don't think they care about image, or ever did care really.
