Ashton
I sat on the bottom of my steps, just looking ahead. I didn't really know what I would say, or how I would say it. But I knew that I had to somehow. I heard about her little plan through the thin walls of our houses. Times like these I'm glas that the little patch of grass that lies in between us is so limited. I wasn't being a creep or anything, but I overheard her taking about her little operation with her "crew" with her chemistry or math teacher, or something like that. She was smoking (of course) on the roof and wasn't scared if someone could overhear her. But of course I did and there's no way that her mission/plan or whatever, could go on without me. I was always the base of everything, I did the heavy work, while Brinley would smoke and look hot, as usual. I couldn't let this plan go without me, they needed me. And Sav wouldn't understand that. She hasn't yet been on a mission as big as this, the craziest thing that she's done was driving all the way to Brisbane just to get her nails retouched. She was never exactly too keen on adventures like the rest of us are. Which is precisely why they need me. I don't even know how it ran through her head that she could actually pull it off, she thinks she's more independant and that she can do this all by herself, but she can't. Brinley has always needed someone to guide her, and since her parents couldn't really do that, I had to. And she repays me by not even telling me anything and completely shutting me out. Great.
Before I could breath, I saw Brinley, Savannah, Riley, and Aubrey already starting to climb into the jeep. For going on a top secret mission, they sure were not quiet. I could hardly see them, they were in all black, and the moon couldn't even catch them in this light.
"All guys in one car, all girl in the other?" I stood up to ask.
She turned around, Savannah screamed, Aubrey and Riley both yelled "Oh, my god" at the same time, which wasn't surprising. Brinley didn't even blink. "Yeah," she nodded.
"Can I tag along?" I asked. I knew that it would take some convincing, but I had to ask. This plan could not go down without me. They truly did need me.
"How did you know?" She asked. She was talking like she got caught or something, it was insanely adorable.
"My house is right there, I pointed to my bedroom window, "and you don't have much of an inside voice." I chuckled.
"Shit." She murmured. "I don't know, Ashton." Brinley seemed like she had already made up her mind.
"Just this one last, then if this goes well then next time I won't be there. I promise." I pleaded.
"Whatever." She turned her back to me, packing her duffle bag into the back trunk. She pointed with her thumb to the passenger seat.
"Yes." I excitedly whispered under my breath.
Sav kept giving me these glares in the car, despite the fact that she was right behind me. I could feel her eyes stabbing into my soul. At least Brey and Riley were happy to see that I was coming. I don't think Sav was much of a fan of me anyways.
As Brinley tried to explain to me the full plan on the drive there, I kept making more suggestions, but she would yell and tell me that it's ridiculous and too late to change anyway. But I knew that something would go wrong, but I didn't want to kill her plan. This is the first prank that she has ever planned and fullproofed by herself. I was more concerned than proud. She looked and spoke with her head up, she was so sure. But I was far from it. And all the rest of the people in this car were all counting on her. I felt bad, because I was always there to take the blame, but it's to late to fix things. I'll just be there to patch things up.
"We're here." I said.
"No shit, Irwin." Savannah whispered to herself in her snobby rich-Arizona-"daddy buys me everything" voice. I knew she was hoping that I would hear, but also made it seem like that that wasn't what she was trying to do.
"Let's go." Brinley smirked.
Fuck.
