Brinley

"Have you ever died your hair before?" He softly speaks, as he intertwined his fingers with my long dark wavy strands of hair. Ever since I got out of school today we've been lying in Ashton room just talking.

"No," I giggle at his question. "Why?" I turn my head so I was face to face with the beautiful boy lying in front of me.

"Because I've never seen someone's hair so- so, perfectly brown and wavy, it's super sexy," he smirks. "for the longest time I swore you wore contacts because I've never seen someone's eyes so, bright and blue-"

"If you did a bad thing you would tell me right?" I interrupt him, not taking anymore of his sweet talks.

"Of course." He sounded a bit unsure. "Can I ask why?"

"Just for future reference." I stare back at his ceiling, closing my eyes as Ashton continues to play with my strands of hair.

"Oh,"

I hum in response.

"and if Luke ever said anything to you, like even if it wasn't bad, you would tell me, right?"

I hesitate to answer, part of me wanted to confront him about it, but at the same time I didn't know who was lying and who was telling the truth. "Was this about what happened on monday at school?"

I waited for an answer but there was none.

"It doesn't matter what he says, because it won't change my views, or beliefs." I lied, and I knew that wasn't the answer he was looking for, but I wasn't going to give him the words he wanted.

"That doesn't answer the question.' He said more stern, propping himself onto his side, looking down at me.

I felt my phone go off in my hands, I clicked the tiny button, completely ignoring what Ashton had said for a second.

"Hey we need to talk, like badly."

It was from Luke.

I constantly tell Ashton that I blocked his number, and thats the reason why Luke hasn't texted me yet like Ashton told me, but that was also another lie. I wanted to block his number but I couldn't do it, something about sentimental shit. I just told Ashton that because he would have gotten angry if I didnt, it was just out of pure comfortablility.

"Reynolds?" He calls. I knew he was watching me look at my phone, I was just praying he didn't see who it was.

"Sorry, I have to go, it's almost dinner." I slide off the end of Ashtons bed, grabbing my flannel and heading for the door.

"Brinley, who texted you?" He sounded so stern, annoyed almost.

"I have to go, but I will see you later?" I turn around to him, face to face, pretending that I couldn't hear his last comment, before opening the front door.

"Knowing me, I'll probably sneak through your window."

I laughed at his words, I took it as a joke, although I knew he was serious, not even a small trace of his dimples on his face. I lean in, gently kissing his cheek.

"Bye Irwin." I smile.

"I'm serious, Brinley." No smirk in return as usual.

I guess he took that I didn't want to stay over because someone had texted me so I had to jet off. He didn't ask the question again, thankfully, I just know that I am going to get an earfull about it later at 10:45.
