Chapter 1

Katsuki was 30 weeks pregnant with twins. He was a pro hero, but since Eijirou found out he was pregnant, he'd been teaching at UA instead of going on patrols. He taught a hero work class. It was an essential class that students wishing to graduate as heroes needed to take. It talked about what heroes really do when they're not out on patrols. For example, how to fill out the various types of paperwork. It was boring sometimes, but at least Katsuki understood it.

He was currently writing something on the board about how to deal with emergency calls when, ironically, his phone started ringing. He looked down at it and huffed. "Speaking of which..." he mumbled and grabbed the phone, looking out at his students, "It's my husband and my agency. Something might be wrong so I have to take it. Just... I dunno, mingle."

The kids turned to each other and started talking. He sighed and answered the phone, turning away from the students and facing the blackboard. "I'm teaching my class right now, make it quick."

"Mr. Ground Zero... It's your husband..." his boss said.

"Eijirou? What about him? Is he alright?"

"No. He got ambushed on a patrol. None of us were prepared for it- we had no leads... He went alone. He had gone pretty far from where backup could reach him when they ambushed him. It was seven against one," she said.

Katsuki let out a shaky breath. "Is he okay now? Did- did he get backup in time?" he said with an attempted still voice.

"He.... He did get backup, but whether it was in time is still to be determined... Chargebolt got to him first. By the time he was there, the villains were fleeing. They'd done some pretty bad damage on Eijirou. He's unconscious at the moment."

"Oh god... What're his injuries? Where is he right now?" he asked, frantically, trying to keep his voice down so his students didn't suspect anything.

"It's better if the doctor tells you the injuries. He's in Musutafu Hospital, just a few miles from you," she answered.

"Tha-thank you. God, Eijirou really is an idiot..." he mumbled, hanging up. He took a deep breath and wiped his teary eyes. He turned around, noticing the class had gone quiet. He sighed. "I have to go. Red Riot- who I think you all know by now is by husband- got himself badly injured in a fight. I don't know who you'll have as a sub or if I'll be back tomorrow, so don't ask," he started to walk out the door after gathering his stuff but huffed and looked back. "No homework till I get back. Just keep reading in your textbook if the sub doesn't assign anything," he said, then walked out.

"Eijirou Kirishima, Red Riot, where is he?" Katsuki asked the person at the front desk.

"May I ask your relation to him?" she asked.

"I'm his husband. Let me go see him," he practically begged, one hand on his bump and the other on the counter.

"Oh- Are you Katsuki?"

"Yes. Let me see my husband!" he yelled.

"Ah- yes, right this way," she said, showing him down a hallway, "Before he fell unconscious, he was calling for you."

Katsuki took a deep breath, about to open the door before he hesitated and pulled his hand back. "What're his injuries? What am I about to see when I go in there...?"

"It's a quite extensive list... you sure you want to hear it?" she asked. He nodded. "Well... His right shin and left knee are broken, his left hip is dislocated, he broke a few fingers and his right wrist, he has three broken ribs, two on the left side and one on the right, his lungs are slightly damaged from inhaling some sort of smoke quirk, he has a lot of minor scrapes and bruises, and... the worst... he was stabbed with two metal poles. They went in between his ribs and just barely missed his internal organs. He was also shot a few times in his shoulders. Among all that, he hit his head pretty hard. It may result in a concussion and or.. Some memory loss. He suffered a great deal of blood loss as well. He might be unconscious for a while and... there's a chance he won't make it through the night..." she explained.
