Chapter 22"GET HIM OUT OF ME GODDAMNIT-" Katsuki screamed through a sob.
"We're close Mr. Kirishima, I promise you. Technically, a c-section is still on the table if you'd like," the doctor said, tapping his knee as a way to comfort him.
"Would it be beneficial to my son?" he croaked.
"It would have the same benefits and risks as continuing to give birth naturally. It would just be more comfortable for you and take less time, since you're already worn out from the first child."
Katsuki shook his head. "No. Naturally."
"Alright then. Now, on your next contraction, I want you to just let your body take the wheel, okay? Just do what feels right and don't add anything extra. It might help the baby slide out a bit more, since at the moment, he's pretty snuggled up in there with his tush hanging out."
With his next contraction, Katsuki felt himself roll on his side and bury his face into something relatively soft. He screamed into it in pain as his body pushed. Something ran through his hair, calming him down slightly as he sobbed. He looked up and through his tears, saw Eijirou smiling softly.
The soft thing he had his face pressed into was Eijirou's abs and chest. He huffed and push his face back in there, Eijirou chuckling softly. "You're doing so well, Katsuki."
"Is this a more comfortable position?" the doctor asked.
"Mhm," he mumbled into Eijirou.
"Okay. I'm gonna lift your top leg up so the baby can get out easier. You can stay right where you are."
He nodded and let her do her thing, pushing and relaxing when she said. Finally, after an hour or so, he felt some relief and heard a small cry.
It was different from the other cries of his newborns that he'd heard over the years. It was male, obviously, and the others were female.
He knew he already had a son. But he'd never heard him cry. He didn't get to hear his voice before he left.
Daichi.
Don't get him wrong, he loved his daughters dearly. He wasn't about to go all 'toxic-masculinity-all-men-rule'. But he couldn't deny the amount of pride that filled his chest when he finally got to hear one of his sons' voices.
He slowly rolled onto his back and smiled lazily at the little boy that was being cleaned off. Eijirou stood up and cut the cord when instructed. "He's..." Katsuki said breathily, staring at the baby in awe, "perfect..."
He heard his dad sob quietly and looked over in confusion. He was staring at the baby with a smile. Katsuki looked back and only then realized, the baby looked like a miniature Masaru.
The baby was laid on his chest, a baby blanket laid over him so only his head and shoulders were showing. Katsuki slowly leaned down and kissed his head. "You look just like your grandpa... I... I wonder if you look like your big brother..." he whispered.
"Big brother?" Eijirou asked.
Katsuki looked up. "Daichi. We never got to see him fully grown... I don't know what his eye color or hair color was supposed to be.. Maybe they look alike, is all I'm saying."
His smile was sad as he leaned forward and pushed away his bangs to kiss his head. "I don't know, Lemon Bear. But how about we don't compare our just born son to a... miscarried fetus.. okay?"
Katsuki nodded. He looked back at their son and ran his hands through his brown hair. "I'm in so much pain right now.. Even with medication..."
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but the next baby isn't waiting like this one did. And the path has been cleared pretty well, so he should be out quick," the doctor said.
