See? Back on track. I had a really good writing day today, though. I've been waiting for this chapter for a while. 

Chapter 39

Three and a half months later

It had been a while since Rini had been born and Sachiko had tried to kill herself. Mina had been back at work for two weeks, and the baby was going to the same daycare that the triplets were going to. The four seemed to get along quite well.

There was still the threat of the villain group that was targeting the kids. No one had forgotten. No one was able to. Katsuki almost pulled the girls out of school, but Eijirou convinced him that it wouldn't benefit anyone. So, all the kids were trying to live life as normal, while still being cautious of everyone they meet. They'd be dropped off right as the bell rang, then picked up right as they walked out of the building. And for recess, they'd stay inside with some trustworthy teachers and entertain themselves with whatever the teacher had in the classroom. They didn't like it all that much, but they knew it was for their safety, so they'd long since stopped complaining.

They'd done a lot of research and investigation on the group over the last three and a half months. They didn't know how many people were in the group, but they had a face and a name for four people. They also found out that this group was the same one that put Eijirou in the hospital nearly a year ago. They were also responsible for Katsuki almost dying seven months ago. But they had done nothing other than target the Kirishima family. And they had made no other moves in the last three months. Since the group hadn't done much, they couldn't find much more than that. And they still had no idea why they were being targeted.

Katsuki and Eijirou were sitting on the couch late at night. All the kids had gone to sleep already, and they should probably also sleep, but they hadn't had much alone time since everything started with the investigation and were trying to find it wherever they could.

They were watching some random American show about a man who went around to different restaurants and watched the cooks make the food, then tried it himself. The man was quite charismatic, and had hair that was actually somewhat similar to Katsuki's. He also constantly seemed to be wearing these (honestly, kind of cringe) early 2000s style sunglasses, no matter if he was inside or not.

Anyway, Katsuki was pressed up against Eijirou's side, yawning every five or so minutes, but still refusing to go to bed whenever Eijirou offered.

"C'mon, Katsuki, I know you're tired. We had a big day today, let's just head up to bed," Eijirou sighed.

"Just- just a few more minutes, Eij-" Katsuki got interrupted by a loud scream from upstairs. Another scream joined in quickly after, from the same place. "Girls?!" Katsuki yelled toward the stairs, "You okay up there?!" When he got no response, just more screaming, and now the added noise of all three babies crying, he stood up. "C'mon," he said to his husband, not looking at him as he rushed to the stairs. Eijirou was quick to follow him. They bolted up the stairs in sync, both of them terrified about what might have caused their daughters to let out such scared screams. Obviously, it wouldn't be anything good.

And it wasn't. They got to the girls room and threw open the door, both slightly out of breath. There were two men standing in the middle of the room, each looming over one of the girls' beds. The girls hadn't stopped screaming. The men seemed like they were trying to get them to stay quiet, but they stopped soon after Eijirou and Katsuki showed up in the doorway.

"Shit," one of them said.

"Time to go with plan B, then?" the other asked. The first man nodded, and as if they were mirrored, they turned to the two adults in the doorway. Once again, in sync, they charged at them.
