Chapter 31

Katsuki stared at himself in the mirror as he tied the knot on his robe. He sighed and looked down at his hands. Of course he couldn't talk to Eijirou about this. Katsuki was too weak. He turned and walked out of the bathroom, looking up at Eijirou who lounged on the bed in only his boxers, playing flappy bird on his phone.

"Hey, I'm gonna go downstairs and grab myself some water. I'll be right back," Katsuki said, walking to the door.

Eijirou put down his phone, a pitiful sound that only meant death coming from it a moment after. Eijirou paid it no mind. "Alright. Be back soon, we really need to have this talk."

"Yeah.. I'll be right back. Already said that." He pulled open the door and walked out. But, instead of walking downstairs to get water like he said he would, he turned to the right toward the guest bedroom. He closed the door after him, sighing as he then laid down on the bed. He put his hand on his lower stomach and gently pressed into the lower of his wounds. He winced in pain and turned his head to the side, pushing it into the pillows to muffle some grunts of pain. He pressed on it harder and let out a ragged gasp, his eyes brimming with tears. He pulled his hand off his stomach and curled into a ball on his side. His hands grasped at the pillow. He sat there for a while, silently crying into that pillow. Somehow, his hand ended up on his stomach, rubbing small circles into it while wincing when it ran over his stitches.

The door creaked open and a sigh followed as Eijirou stepped into the dark room. "Thought I'd find you here. You can't run from this conversation no matter how much you want to, Kat," Eijirou said, sounding slightly annoyed. He turned around to close the door as Katsuki lifted his head, tears blurring his vision. When Eijirou looked back over to him, and their eyes met, he frowned and his eyebrows furrowed with concern. "You're crying... Oh, honey.." Eijirou walked over to him and sat on the edge of the bed, "We really need to talk about this."

Katsuki shimmied so that his upper body was laying on Eijirou's lap and his head was up on his stomach. He aggressively wiped his tears. "I'm not crying."

"Alright. I'll pretend I don't see it. Now, please tell me what's been bothering you the last few days.."

Katsuki took a few deep breaths to steady himself, though his voice was still cracking as he spoke, "I can't get pregnant anymore... There was only one year during our relationship that I couldn't get pregnant. You.. you provide so much for our relationship, Ei... All I've been able to provide is babies. That's- fuck- that's all I can give you. And I can't anymore. So I... I tried pushing you away. Because eventually you're gonna realize that I can't do anything for our relationship anymore... and you're gonna leave me for someone better. I... wanted to prepare myself for that. I'm a good hero, but I'm a shit husband. I wanted to pull back so it wouldn't hurt as much when you realized it. And the kids- it just hurts to see them when I know that's all we'll have. I love them with everything I have but... I want more..." he sighed, "Just tell me now that you don't wanna be with me. Get it over with."

Eijirou pulled Katsuki up so he could hug him tightly. "You don't need to give me kids to be worth my love. I'll always love you no matter what. And plus, you do do stuff for our relationship. Like: you're a really good cook! And, of course, you make me happy! Kat, that's all I ever need from you. And you don't even have to do anything to make me happy, you just have to exist. I have everything I need right here in my arms. Plus, I'm gay, Katsuki. My whole life I've been prepared to not have biological kids. Being able to carry a baby for nine months isn't in my romantic criteria."

"So... you're not gonna leave me?"

"Of course not." Eijirou squeezed him and kissed his foreheads, "Come back to bed with me, okay?"
