Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Eijirou slowly opened his eyes, smiling softly at the soft light that came through the windows next to him. He smiled wider at the heat he felt against his thighs. Katsuki was sitting next to him. He knew that just by feeling him. And also because he knew that he'd stayed over the last few nights. The end of his week off.

The girls had been sleeping at Mitsuki and Masaru's house. Katsuki would drop them off right before bedtime and tuck them in, waiting till they drifted off to sleep to leave and join Eijirou in bed at the hospital. Then, before the girls woke up, he was back at their house getting them up for school. Then he came back and stayed with Eijirou till he picked them up from school and brought them to the hospital. Around dinner, they'd leave again. And then, the routine continued.

Eijirou was about to roll over and say good morning before he heard it. Soft sniffles and muffled sobs. Definitely the sound of someone crying. It was right next to him. And it was obviously Katsuki. It was also obvious that Katsuki didn't want Eijirou to know he was crying, hence why he was doing it quietly while he was asleep.

Now, Eijirou knew he couldn't roll over and say good morning. He knew that Katsuki didn't want to seem weak. Crying in front of Eijirou would seem weak to him. But he wasn't going to let Katsuki just cry without comfort either.

So he gave him five minutes. He was hoping that in those five minutes, he would calm himself down and cuddle back up to him again. Eijirou still wouldn't let him off the hook, of course. He'd bring it up when Katsuki wasn't as emotionally fragile and possibly bombarded with pregnancy hormones. But his crying only seemed to get more intense after the five minutes was up, so Eijirou decided to intervene. Kind of.

He closed his eyes, pretending to have been asleep the whole time as he let out a dramatic yawn to show the other that he was 'waking up'. He heard Katsuki curse under his breath and the sheets rustled, Eijirou assuming that Katsuki was viciously wiping away tears.

He rolled onto his back and slowly opened his eyes, a soft, slightly sad smile on his face. Katsuki was sitting next to him, watching with an obviously fake content look. "Good Morning, Angel..." he said softly, laying his hand on Eijirou's cheek. His voice sounded strained and choked up. "How'd you sleep?"

Eijirou moved his hand so it laid on Katsuki's thigh. "I slept well..." he hesitated before sitting up, his smile turning sadder. "You don't have to stop your crying session just for me."

Katsuki looked down at his lap and huffed. "You heard..."

"What's wrong, sweetheart? You can talk to me, you don't need to hide your feelings from me..." Eijirou sighed, rubbing up and down his thigh.

"Fuck, nothings wrong, alright?! I'm fine! Fuck off! I-I wasn't even crying, your ears are just broken!" he barked out angrily, pushing Eijirou's hand off. The sudden mood change didn't phase Eijirou at all.

"Katsuki, please. Your eyes are red-rimmed and bloodshot. Your nose is all pink- and even though that's absolutely adorable, it's a dead giveaway. Not only that, but your cheeks are flushed and tear stained. And you still have a lump in your throat. I can hear it. So please don't lie to me and just tell me why you were crying and why you think you need to hide that from me," Eijirou said, knowing how to deal with his husband's brash demeanor.

Though Eijirou was pretty sure it was mostly the pregnancy hormones that caused this, Katsuki started bawling again. He tucked himself right up to Eijirou, his head buried in his chest. Eijirou cooed and wrapped his arms around him, holding him securely to his chest. "Aw, baby, shh... let it all out, it's okay... you're safe here, you can cry all you need to," he whispered, rocking them gently.
