chapter twenty nine ;; avoidance

That night, despite having a terrible headache, Toshiro stayed up for hours with your older brother, educating him on your relationship development with Neji and how you got to the point you're at, how Kenji was completely in the wrong, how Toshiro understood his intentions but they were unnecessary, and how bad his headache was.

Toshiro was able to get an hour of sleep in before the sun had began to rise, Inochi finding a way to wake him up peacefully. You were still unconscious, which made Toshiro panic a bit because he was the one who knocked you out before things got serious.

Your brother was grateful that you weren't awake, though, because now that he was aware of everything that happened between you and Neji, he could understand your anger as well.

You four were able to arrive back to the village safely, leaving you at home while the three boys went to report back to Tsunade. It turns out that your brother got in touch with her in order to create a fake mission to be able to see how well his sister was able to execute missions, and because he didn't want to randomly show up to the leaf village unannounced.

However, his thoughts toward Neji were all truthful, but were beginning to slightly change because of Toshiro.

Due to his thoughts, Neji forced himself to stay away from you for days. He would either lock himself in his room, or avoid you in public. His actions eventually caused you to avoid him as well, figuring that he no longer wanted to speak to you after what your brother told him. You still had no idea what he said, and it was angering you.

Your feelings caused you to stay inside of your room majority of the day, only coming out to shower or use the bathroom. Masagi would bring food to your room, only for you to have taken a couple unnoticeable bites and leave it for him to pick up later. Saya would attempt to come cheer you up by making you laugh with a corny joke, but you'd only stare at her with a straight face.

Your brother refused to apologize to you, because he felt it was right. The two of you being in such bad moods while being in the same household was getting overwhelming for Masagi and Saya.

Meanwhile, Toshiro and Inochi were worried about you and surprisingly Neji. Toshiro's threats hadn't fazed Neji in the slightest and Inochi couldn't read Neji's mind from all of the cluttered thoughts.

When they came to see you, they were so gentle with you. They were acting as if you were made of fragile glass, speaking to you in soft voices and reassuring you that everything would be okay. Eventually, though, Toshiro got sick of seeing you two apart and decided to be a bit forceful.

He grabbed you out of your bed, throwing you over his shoulder and holding you tight so you couldn't get out of his arms. He didn't allow you to get dressed, so you were out in public with shorts and a tank top on, being forcefully carried to the Hyuga residence. You couldn't even bring yourself to fight back, because you simply weren't in the mood.

He barged into Neji's room, Inochi behind you two. Toshiro then placed you on the edge of Neji's bed, Neji staring blankly.

"...What are you doing?" He questioned, voice a bit raspy from having not spoken in a while.

"Speak." Toshiro urged. "I'm getting sick of seeing you two like this. You guys used to be all kissy kissy and shit, now you're avoiding each other like the plague."
