chapter thirty four ;; insecure

Are you cheating on me or something?!

Your eyebrows twitched in annoyance as you sighed.

"Quit being childish," Saya said. "You're being more of a child than me. That's embarrassing. Grow up."

"You—! No one was talking to you! Why are you even here?! None of this is any of your business but my teammates!"

"Who... are you yelling at?" She mumbled. "You're really pissing me off, Denden, or whatever the fuck your name is."

"Look, quit being so clingy to... that. I don't fight or argue with children, so I'm going to ignore you."

"Let's see if you can ignore my fist going towards your face."

"Saya, calm down. Masagi's gonna kick your ass if he finds out you're being this way." You placed your hand on her head.

"Then..." She whispered. "Maybe I should just go. Am I being too protective of you, Y/n? Are you mad at me?"

"What? No, I'm not mad at you." You sunk to your knees, cupping her cheeks. "I'm really appreciative of you, Saya. You don't hesitate to stand up for me, and I love that about you."

"I don't want to seem annoying. I'm going to go home."

"Saya..."

You watched as she stood back and jumped into the trees, jumping her way back home. You sighed lowly, standing up and dusting yourself off.

"I'm gonna go home too, then."

"Oh, well if that's the case, I am, too." Toshiro shrugged. "Actually, I'll just go with you, Y/n."

"Ah, then there's no point in me staying, huh?" Inochi spoke as he walked toward you two.

"No one's going anywhere!" A passionate, familiar voice spoke. "My tardiness will not break my youth's yearning for strength! Please, let us all train to our heart's content!"

"...No." You spoke.

"Yeah, no thanks." Toshiro chuckled awkwardly.

"Not really feeling it. Sorry, sensei." Inochi replied blandly.

Guy could only laugh, loudly and a bit obnoxiously. "Haha! What amusing children Haruka has raised!"

"Not trying to be amusing." You muttered.

"Haruka didn't raise me." Toshiro narrowed his eyebrows.

"...Can we go home?" Inochi asked.

"Well, we can begin with five laps around this entire village as a warmup!" He cried out. "Doesn't that sound just spectacular, Lee?!"

"Yes, sensei!"

No one had a chance to go against his words. He'd began to run, and everyone else had no choice but to follow behind him. You jogged through the village once, and that seemed to be all you could do—, or, all you wanted to do, because as soon as you found yourself circling back around to the forest, you took a seat and allowed yourself to sit in thought.

Neji was the only one to notice you, seeing as you sat behind a tree to try and hide from Guy sensei. He sauntered over to you, the two of you switching spots so you sat in his lap and his chin rested on your shoulder.
