chapter thirty nine ;; unhinged

You like to spar with my boyfriend, don't you? Show me what he taught you, yeah?

You could feel a gentle touch on your face, your eyes fluttering as you slowly opened them. It was dim in the room, but bright enough to see who was towering over you. Masagi stood there, a concerned expression on his face.

"Y/n..." He spoke softly. "Are you feeling okay?"

You nodded your head, looking down at the weight on your abdomen. It was an arm—, Toshiro's arm. He was laying beside you with an arm over your stomach, asleep.

"I healed your injuries. There aren't any scars or anything, so you don't have to worry about your pretty face being all beat up." He smiled.

You could only smile back at him. "...Do you have my flowers?"

"Flowers? What flowers?"

"Neji... he bought me flowers. Roses. They were so pretty..."

"Your roses are gone." Toshiro mumbled, somewhat consciously.

You sighed. Masagi pat your head.

"It'll be okay. I'm sure he'll get you new ones."

"It doesn't matter... I wanted those. I loved those."

"I bet you did. I'm sorry about that."

"It's... okay."

"Now, tell me who hurt you." He spoke, that soft voice quickly shifting to one more threatening.

"Whatever you're planning, I'll do it myself."

"That's not what he asked you, Y/n." Toshiro muttered.

"Look, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I appreciate your worries, but this is something I need to handle alone."

"It was Tenten." The familiar voice of Inochi spoke, and you could only look around your room to see where he was. "She put a paper bomb in her hand after shaking it."

"Where did you come from?" Your eyebrow twitched upon seeing him on your bed as well.

"My house."

"Tenten, huh?" Masagi hummed. "Is that the same girl that's interfering with your relationship?"

You huffed. "Yeah."

"Interesting."

"Please don't do anything."

"You have forty eight hours to handle it, or I'm doing something myself. I'll tell you now, what I'm gonna do is way worse that anything you can imagine."

"It's not that serious."

"She tried to kill you. You, the girl who's been under my custody for eighteen years. You, the girl who sees me as a father figure. As that father figure, I can only do what's right and kill anyone who tries to hurt you. So, you have forty eight hours to do something. Understand?"

"...Yeah. I understand."

And so, he walked out of the room. You slowly sat up, getting off of the bed to go to your closet.
