chapter three ;; fourth preliminaries

Looks like your little boyfriend lost

As you walked inside, you bumped into Masagi who had a large grin on his face. You raised a brow at his odd expression.

"...What?"

"So? Are you two finally getting along?" He questioned.

"No. I hate him still."

"Then, explain why he walked you back home."

"Hizashi told him to."

"And that hug?"

"...It was to thank him."

"Right, right."

"I have to get ready for tomorrow." You spoke, hurriedly walking past him as you began to feel embarrassed by the fact he saw what happened.

You did get prepared for the next day, choosing to bathe first to get the stench of rain and outside off of you. While bathing, your mind was racing. You were nervous. Your match was against someone named Asajiro. You were confident in yourself, but you learned to never be too confident.

After your shower, you packed everything you needed. Kunai, shuriken, water, a poison Masagi told you to use if worse came to worse, your scrolls, and a book of facts and things to look out for that Masagi gave you.

The rest of the time was yours after that. It'd only been about an hour since you came back from the Hyuga residence.

You were a bit disappointed that you couldn't continue your training because of the rain, but that brought you to do what you were currently doing.

Meditating.

Well—, technically, you were balancing your chakras. Though, at the same time, it could be referred to as meditation. You sat on the cold, hardwood floor with your legs crisscrossed, in the darkest room of your residence. That room had no windows, or any source of light for that matter. The room was empty, which gave you the space to meditate whenever you felt like it.

Despite it being the darkest room, you had one candle lit. That candle was directly in front of you. You'd been meditating for about five minutes. Nothing too major.

You'd just begun to feel that familiar sensation bubbling in your stomach. You were concentrated. There wasn't a single noise or thing to distract you.

Besides the feeling of a hand on your shoulder.

That'd thrown you off completely, shocking you and making that feeling abruptly send a sharp pain through your body.

"What—?!" You looked back to see Masagi behind you. "What do you want?!"

"Calm down. What are you doing?"

"I was trying to meditate!"

"Yeah, well, your meditation has me scared for my life."

"What are you talking about?"

"You're too concentrated. There was a lot of chakra emitting around you when I walked in. You have to be aware of your surroundings, too, you know? You can't be so concentrated on one thing. It'll get you killed."

You sighed. "Why didn't you call me?"

"I did. Three times." He replied. "But, that's very impressive. You're growing, Y/n. I know you'll beat your opponent tomorrow. So, don't worry about 'balancing your chakras'. Trust me, I'll tell you when something needs to happen."
