"How come you ended up reporting your dad?" Jaemin asked the brunette at noon, after Kun went to buy some lunch. The atmosphere between them felt really suffocating, but it made sense after that argument. The raven haired male glanced at Jeno, who was obviously playing with the sleeves of his hoodie as if he was hiding something. Out of instinct, Jaemin grabbed his arm before he could react and he pulled the sleeve up. A tear fell down his cheek when he saw the similar bandage Renjun also had on his arms. "Why didn't you say anything? You made me think you were okay." Jaemin let go of him and buried his face in his palms. He started sobbing because he realized that he was a bad friend all this time and that he never understood others. Jeno could have died and he would have never known why.

"Jaemin." The older placed his hand on his shoulder and tried his best not to chuckle but he failed. His best friend looked up with tears in his eyes. "I just burned myself with boiling water. I didn't harm myself or anything so chill."

"Oh..." Jaemin whispered and wiped away the tears. He still felt bad, but at least he knew Jeno was mentally okay. "I'm sorry."

"For what?" The brunette stretched his arm above his head as he looked at him.

"For choosing to help Renjun over running away and for hurting you all those years." Jaemin started playing with his hands. He wasn't able to keep the eye contact with the older at all. "I have to admit, I'm glad we didn't run away." He then said after few minutes of pure silence.

"Did you start liking him that you desperately wanted to help him?" Jeno asked instead of replying to his statement, making Jaemin widen his eyes a bit. "So you did." A sad chuckle left his throat before he sighed. "Who would have thought that you, Na Jaemin, who hated the racer with all your heart would have fallen for him."

Their eyes met.

"I like you more though." The raven haired male replied in defense. He felt his face heating up. "Yeah, I like you more and that won't change. I feel so bad for him. He just wants someone to understand him and he got me. I managed to understand him and this is why I don't want to see him cut his veins until he dies."

"He's in such bad condition?" Jeno asked in disbelief and when Jaemin nodded, he cursed under his breath.

"He cut himself last night. I was awake when Taeil, you know him too, came back home with him. I guess he couldn't bear going home. When I went this morning to his room to see if he was okay, I saw the whole bathroom red. It's terrifying, because he told me himself he has no hope and he just wants to die, but I believe I can save him. I promised myself to save him."

"Shit." Jeno ran his hand through his brown hair. "But even if he doesn't kill himself, he won't accept a lifetime sentence in jail. He might kill himself there."

"That's why I want to convince this detective to understand him. It's hard, because at this point he's a murderer with God knows how many kills." Jaemin buried his face in his palms again. He knew there were small chances to see Renjun alive after tomorrow, but he had hope. "Taeil found out I know. Renjun told me to be careful because if they find out, my dad will order him to kill me. I suppose he already told him that I'm his new victim."

"Wait what?" Jeno widened his eyes in shock. "Fuck, then it's bad."

"Yeah, I know." Jaemin replied just when the door of the office opened, revealing Kun.

"Let's go eat at my place." The detective said.

"If you weren't out to buy food then where were you?" Jeno asked the older, his brows being furrowed from the confusion. They almost waited a whole half an hour. Kun rubbed his nape.

"Yeah, long story short my colleagues have a hard time because of that accident and I had to help them a bit." Kun cleared his throat before he grabbed some keys. "Let's go. I want to hear as much as I can from you two in order to help okay?"

"Okay."

The whole way towards Kun's home took about fifteen minutes. The house was nice from the outside and the neighborhood seemed nice as well.

"Make yourself at home okay?" The detective told the two once they entered the house. "We can talk while eating if it's not a problem."

"Sure. The more you know the better." Jaemin replied while his eyes scanned the interior. The place looked really clean and he wondered if Kun was married. He made his way inside the living room and started wandering the place. He saw some pictures with Kun's family from he was a teenager. He had a younger brother, the raven haired male realized. In the picture with the family, he saw the small boy laughing at something. Something about him looked really familiar.

"That's my brother." A voice spoke behind and when Jaemin looked back at Kun, he saw him smiling. "He's your age. I think he even goes to the same university as you two go."

"Really?" Jeno asked from behind Jaemin, startling the younger a bit.

"Maybe you know him, but not from his name. In university we kind of know each other, but not by the name." The detective took out another framed picture and handed it to Jaemin. "That's Renjun."

When Jaemin saw Renjun in his high school uniform, his eyes went wide. He tried to act as okay as he could, but when he glanced at Jeno, he saw how pale his best friend was. He looked like he was about to throw up.

"We saw him on the hallways." Jeno took the picture from Jaemin's hand and place it back on the shelf. "Few times only." He then cleared his throat.

"He's a nice kid. He has some problems lately but I hope he'll get better." Kun seemed to be really worried about his younger brother, but Jaemin didn't even want to imagine how destroyed he would be if he found out that Renjun might end up in jail for life. "I'll go heat up the food. You guys do whatever you want."

"Okay." Jeno replied and faked a smile. He waited for Kun to disappear in the kitchen. "What do we do now?"

"We can't tell him." Jaemin whispered back. "We'll destroy him. We'll act as if we didn't know anything. He'll see with his own eyes tomorrow night."

"Fair enough." Jeno replied and dropped himself on the sofa.

Suddenly, the sound of the front door being opened from the outside rang in Jaemin's ears. He almost jumped from the armchair he was sitting on, when he spotted Kun's tall figure exiting the kitchen. He was wearing an apron on top of his work clothes.

"I thought you had classes until late in afternoon." The man spoke in a worried way.

"That's Friday." Renjun's tired voice replied and the two heard as he dropped his heavy backpack on the floor. A loud sigh escaped his lips. "I'll take a shower then go to sleep. Also, I won't come home tomorrow night. I'm going to a race with Yangyang." As if he didn't see the two newcomers, Renjun walked inside the ground floor bathroom to wash his hands. "How come you're home?"

"Oh, I came to have some lunch with some people I met today. We are working on a really big case."

"Big case? Like what?" From Jaemin's perspective, he knew Renjun was faking that he was being interested. He still didn't notice the two, which made both Jeno and Jaemin feel more than anxious.

"It's confidential for now but I can tell you it's about a well-known person in the town." Kun leaned by the frame of the door and stopped Renjun from going back to take his backpack. "Aren't you going to greet?"

The blonde haired male looked behind his brother and widened his eyes in shock.

"What the fuck are you two doing here?"
