2 days after

Renjun opened his eyes when the warm touch of the sunlight landed on his face. He looked outside, through the clean window and saw the sun already up on the bright blue sky, sign that it would be a nice day. He couldn't think of it as nice at all, because he slept two hours, he had fresh wounds on his arms because of the pain he felt after doing the job with Taeil and he wasn't home either.

Rubbing his tired eyes, the blonde haired young man stood up and glanced at the borrowed pajamas he found in the closet from Jaemin's house. The sleeves were red from his own blood, but when he pulled one of them to see what he did few hours ago, half tired half sober from the few drinks he had right after coming back filled with dirt and strange blood on him, he saw that the five cuts weren't that deep.

A sudden knock at his door made Renjun flinch and clear his throat. He was expecting to see Taeil with the envelope with money in it after he opened the door, but he was startled when was met by Jaemin's face. The taller seemed tired, but Renjun knew he wasn't able to sleep after his tragic breakup with Jeno. If he could even call it a breakup. Still, their friendship was over.

"Can I come in?" Jaemin asked and when the shorter nodded his head, his lips formed a think line while he stepped inside. Renjun closed the door and rested his back by the cold surface of it. He watched as Jaemin stopped and looked at the bathroom that had the door wide open.

Shit, Renjun cursed inside his head when he realized that the floor was most probably red.

The tall guy turned around and approached him again. He stopped when they were few inches away from each other. Without saying anything, Jaemin took his arm and pulled the sleeve up, revealing to new fresh cuts. They weren't as big as the one he did with the knife, but they were still there, two lines on Renjun's pale skin.

"Is it worth it?" The younger asked, his voice cracking a bit. "Cutting yourself I mean. Is it worth it?" His question made Renjun scoff and look at an invisible point on a wall behind Jaemin.

"For a few minutes I can feel relaxed." The shorter male pulled his arm away from his held and walked inside the bathroom. He had to clean the mess he made before Taeil would come to give him the money. "How did you find my room?" He asked after he decided to clean the wounds before cleaning the floor.

"I found Taeil's schedule and I followed him few days ago when he went to pay you." Jaemin was now leaning by the door frame, his arms being crossed over his chest. "Will you be able to come to the race?" He then asked, thinking that changing the topic would be a good idea.

"Yeah. It's tomorrow right?" Renjun glanced at him and met his dark eyes. Jaemin nodded before he started playing with his hands just he did every time he felt anxious. Renjun sighed and looked back at his arm. He took a bandage from the edge of the sink and started wrapping it around his whole arm until it reached the wrist.

"I'll help you with the other one." Jaemin offered and entered the bathroom. Renjun watched as he sat down on the edge of the bathroom, next to him. "Give me your arm." The blonde haired male did as he was told and stretched out his arm. Jaemin held it softly, as if he was scared the wounds would open if he grabbed it too rough. He took some alcohol and cleaned the other three cuts before he bandaged them. "I will send my dad to jail."

"What?" Renjun frowned and glanced at him.

"Yeah. I will need proof though. I'll go to the police station today to give my statement and I will pay some detectives to work for me. He can't get away after ruining so many lives. You could also tell them a part of the story."

"That means telling them about my job Jaemin." Renjun stood up and ran a hand through his hair. "You need to be realistic here. If I give my statement I won't be a victim. I thought you already understood from last time we had this conversation." The shorter turned around and looked down at Jaemin. A sigh escaped his lips. "You have a good heart and I really hope you will make up things with Jeno. He really is your only chance to escape." The younger looked up at him and Renjun spotted his trembling lip. "Just let me handle my stuff okay? You try to get him in jail if that's what you want, but listen to me and don't help me. It's for the best."

He noticed how Jaemin wanted to say something, but he got interrupted by a loud knock at the door. Taeil. Taking a bathrobe over the pajamas, Renjun exited the bathroom and this time, closed the door so the older won't see Jaemin. He approached the door and opened it, revealing the short man, wearing a pastel blue suit this time. His hair was neatly brushed and in his hands covered by a pair of silk gloves, he was holding the well-known envelope with money.

"I see you are awake." Taeil said and a emotionless smile formed his lips. "Get dressed, Mr. Na want's to see you. He also invited you to have breakfast with him and his son. Try to behave because this is an important event."

"What?" The blonde haired young man furrowed. "O-Okay, I'll be there. Just tell me the time."

"In an hour." Taeil replied before he cleared his throat and turned around on his heel.

Renjun closed the door of the room and stormed inside the bathroom, where Jaemin just finished cleaning the blood from the floor.

"Get out." He told the taller who frowned in confusion.

"Why? I just came here."

"Because apparently you will eat breakfast with your dad and me. And he thinks we aren't close so get out."

"Fuck." Jaemin cursed under his breath as he stood up and crossed his arms over his chest. "He knows something."

"What do you mean?" Renjun let him exit the room and just kept on staring at his back. "Jaemin." The younger flinched and turned around.

"He knows something. This whole breakfast thing is too weird. I didn't eat breakfast in this house ever since mom left. He also doesn't eat with his workers. Taeil works here for years and he never ate with him." Jaemin walked past him and reached the door. He glanced behind before grabbing the doorknob. "You need to get out of here. I'll act as if I don't know anything."

"But..."

Jaemin didn't let him finish as he opened the door. He froze when he saw a short man that had a crazy smile forming his lips. Renjun approached the taller and widened his eyes. But Taeil left...

"I never knew you two were actually friends. What happened? Was Jeno not enough for you?" Taeil then chuckled before he took out a gun.
