I believe in Love.
And do not despair,
because so should you.
It is not only found on
the lips of
a lover,
nor just an
animalistic ritual.
Don't get me wrong,
it can be a pull
behind your navel
or the shivers along your body
that turn you
to fire and ice.
But it's so much more than just
that.
Love is the protective arms of a friend when you feel like
the world should be ending.
It's the reassurance you give to your little sister who's
incredibly sad
just as you were at 14.
It is the show you watch that makes you cry because surely
something fictional
shouldn't be so
God damn emotional.
But it reminds you of your own loss,
but also of
love.
It's in the food
you make for those
that matter,
secretly hoping they like it.
Even nature is love.
This caress of cold wind brushes my cheek and bites my nose
yet warms my soul.
I'm reminded of
Japan,
a home from long ago.
Love is celestial,
transcendent,
living in me.
It's everywhere.
Bask in the beauty of it all.
It's a choice,
you must choose it everyday in your heart,
or you'll be lost
searching for a love
you believe only exists
in a person
when you have
trillions of atoms of love
all around you.
When I die they will wonder what god I believed in—
Tell them
"only love".
