Sam's POV:

August 20th, 2020

Eddie took a strong hold of my hand as we walked into the reception hall together, my legs were now exposed since from the knee down my dress could be removed, I gladly took it off since I was tripping over it making Eddie laugh at me. We sat down at our table and everyone watched, Evan stood up and raised his glass, "A toast to our newlyweds, Eddie and Sam, I love both of you with all my heart, my twin and my best friend. I'm excited to see what great things you are waiting for in the future. To the newlyweds,"

"To the newlyweds," Our guests repeated. Eddie took a drink and I drank water for obvious reasons. Our table was first to get up and go up to the buffet for dinner. There were many options: pulled pork, sliced beef sirloin, salad, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and a load of fruits. I was glad to help myself with some pulled pork, salad, and some fruit, the babies seemed to enjoy these foods the most, they didn't like any seafood nor did they like most vegetables which would be such a joy trying to raise them.

I sat down and watched Eddie sit next to me with a plate of food. He ran his thumb over my cheekbone, making me smile, and my eyes lit up. "How're you feeling?"

"Grateful, I couldn't be happier."

He smiled, "Neither could I, how are the babies?"

"Good, I'm really lucky that they decided not to give me much of a belly otherwise I would never have been able to fit into this dress."

Eddie casually ran his hand over my tiny belly, "I'm sorry for all the wrong I have done. I love you so much, I will never leave you again. Lena, Ana, and Mariana are all my past, but this and you are my future. I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world."

I pulled him into a hug the best I could and kissed his cheek. "I love you,"

"I love you too, Mrs. Diaz."

"I love the way that sounds."

"Good, because so do I,"

I pulled away from Eddie and watched as more guests went to get their food, I felt a presence next to me and looked to see someone who was almost unrecognizable... almost.

"Mom?"

She smiled at me, "Hey, Samantha."

I hesitated before standing up and hugging her, "I didn't think you would come."

"I wouldn't miss your wedding, no matter our past. I still love you, now, will you introduce me to your husband?"

I nodded with a small smile on my face. "Eddie, this is my mother, Margaret. Mom, this is my husband and love of my life, Eddie."

Eddie was hesitant to shake her hand but he did it to be polite. "It's very nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Buckley,"

"You too, Eddie, you do look gorgeous Samantha, I'm glad you finally found happiness."

"Thank you, that means a lot."

She nodded, "Even if you did have to travel across the country to find it."

I nodded slowly, "Stanford was a great pick for me, it led me to where I am now, I never would have met Eddie if it wasn't for my trip to Cali."

My mother sighed, "You never learn, I'm not talking about schooling, it was never about where you went to school. It was always about lacrosse."

"What about it?"

"You act like I didn't watch your games, I saw your career-ending injury, Samantha, I watched you screaming on the field, I watched you pull yourself over to the sidelines. You are stupid for putting yourself in such a dangerous position with continuing with that sport."

I felt a pang of hurt in my chest, "But it was my decision to make."

My mother nodded and walked away, I sighed and looked at Eddie, "Are you okay?"

I nodded, "Yeah, I'm sorry."

"Don't be, it isn't your fault."

I laughed lightly, "What's a wedding without a little family drama,"

Eddie smiled, "You're right,"

"Did Adriana even show up?"

"Yeah, she's here, she's over with Christopher."

I nodded, "I'm glad she's here,"

"Me too,"

Eddie and I took our seats and ate our dinner, the bridesmaids and groomsmen made casual conversation with everyone at the table.

After a few moments, I was pulled to my feet by my father, I knew what this was, it was time for the father-daughter dance. The subtle beat of My Little Girl by Tim McGraw started playing and I felt tears prick at my eyes. I looked down and began dancing with my dad, "I love you, dad,"

"I love you too, Sammy."

The subtle swaying was calming, a few tears fell from my eyes and as the song came to an end I looked at my dad who had a stray tear falling down his cheek. I smiled faintly at him, Eddie walked over to us and shook my father's hand, my dad kissed my forehead and handed me off to Eddie. "You take care of her, Diaz,"

"I will, sir. I promise."

My dad walked away and God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton started playing making my heart flutter. "Eddie,"

"Shhh," He whispered and wrapped his arms securely around me. "I'm so in love with you,"

"Ditto," I whispered in reply as we shared our first dance as husband and wife. "I was so nervous today, but then I saw you waiting for me at the altar and I wasn't scared anymore."

"Being the center of attention has never been something I like either, but seeing you standing in front of me, looking gorgeous as ever, made it all worth it. You're worth it,"

I smiled and pulled him as close as possible, his hands were pressed against my lower back, and my face was buried in his neck as I listened to the calming music.

The night continued with lots of dancing, singing, and kissing. Eddie and I were on cloud 9 today, this was a win for us, both of us have faced life-or-death situations multiple times and I highly doubt those were the only ones we will face, but as long as I have him, I know I will be safe, I know I will be loved.

Now we have a month till we can find out the gender of our babies, I was so excited to learn their gender and then begin setting up their nursery. I knew Eddie was excited too, he always wanted more kids but he and Shannon were so involved with Christopher that they never could. But now that Chris is older and we have Carla to assist us with him, now we have two bundles of joy on the way and none of us could wait until we get to meet them.

As the night began to slow down, Eddie and I remained in each other's arms, we were the last to leave, and he carried me to the car and began driving. "Where are we going?"

"Well, your brother was so generous to watch Christopher, we are heading to the airport where we will take a private jet to the Carolinas, we will spend 4 days there and then come back on a private jet."

"I thought we weren't getting a honeymoon?"

"I wanted to surprise you,"

I smiled, "Thank you, Eddie."

"Anything for my bride," Eddie said and looked at me.

I blushed, "Eyes on the road, last I checked you aren't Brian O'Conner,"

Eddie laughed and turned to face the road again. "You and your movie references, I will never get enough of you."

"Good, because I'm not going anywhere."

A/N:

It's been a minute. I apologize, but I haven't watched the new season of 9-1-1. I can't seem to keep up with it, especially with my schooling. However, I only have 10 weeks left until I graduate, so I'm hoping things slow down a bit after that so I can play catch-up on this book.

I appreciate all of your patience with me, I love you all and promise that I intend to continue on this book properly. It may just take me a little bit.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
