Sam's POV:
August 21st, 2020
This morning, I woke up to the calming sound of waves crashing on the sandy shore. I smiled and rolled onto my back, I stretched out and set a hand on my belly. I looked to my left and my eyes fell on a still-sleeping Eddie. My husband, the father of my children... I blushed lightly as I watched the slow rise and fall of his chest.
I turned to face him and kept that smile plastered on my face, he looked so at peace, I couldn't wait to have our babies. He is such a great father to Christopher, I can't wait to see how he is with two more. I was trying to picture them in my head, I couldn't care less about the gender, as long as our children are healthy, that's all I care about. I get the feeling they will look identical to Eddie, not that I was complaining, I would love to have two mini versions of him running around.
I quietly got up and walked over to the bathroom, I took a shower, got dressed, and started making breakfast. I hummed to the soft music that was playing and walked around the kitchen with some pep in my step. Today was going to be a great day, I wouldn't let it be anything else. "Someone is in a giddy mood,"
I jumped at his voice and laughed to myself. "Good morning, sleepyhead,"
"What're you doing?"
"Making pancakes," I paused and looked at him, I moved my hands to my hips and smiled, "What're you doing?"
He shrugged, "Enjoying the view,"
I rolled my eyes and blushed lightly, "You're such a pain,"
"You love me though,"
"Hate you,"
Eddie stood up and smiled down at me, "You love me,"
"Hate you," I whispered.
"Hate you too, loser."
I laughed lightly and grabbed Eddie's arm when he tried to walk away, I pulled him into a kiss and felt him smile. "I love you,"
"I love you too, Mrs. Diaz,"
I blushed, "That will never stop sounding good to me," I spoke as I turned back to the food I was making.
"Good, I'd be disappointed if you said otherwise,"
"So what do you have planned for us today, husband?" I said as I put the food onto his plate.
He smirked, "Well, I was hoping to go for a nice swim, layout on the beach, tan, and that's as far as I've gotten, oh and we have to watch movies tonight."
I started laughing, "Sounds like fun,"
Eddie pulled me onto his lap and gave me a serious look. "You do know how much you mean to me, right?"
"Maybe you could show me,"
Eddie leaned in for a kiss "Gladly-"
"No," I whined, "Not now! After breakfast,"
Eddie started laughing at me, "You and your food, one of the many things I love about you, Sam,"
"It's not my fault, the Diaz twins are hungry."
"When aren't they,"
I made a face and mocked his laugh, "Haha, you're so funny,"
"Shut up and eat so I can appreciate you more than ever before,"
I about choked on my food, "Piss off, I'm going to take my time and savor my food."
Eddie laughed lightly, "Fine, I'll see you on the beach," He walked towards the glass door and pulled his t-shirt off. His abs were popping and I couldn't help but stare, he looked back and smiled, "Time's ticking, mi amor,"
"Shut up, Edmundo. I'm trying to eat, you're distracting me!"
"Keep your eyes to yourself then,"
I glared at him but he made a heart with his hands making me smile. I turned back to my breakfast and finished eating fast, I did the dishes and saw Eddie lying in the sand, I walked to our room and found one of my swimsuits. I smiled at the white fabric and got dressed, I put my hair up in a messy bun and went outside. I set a soft kiss on Eddie's lips while he lay in the sand with his eyes closed, "Why aren't you lying on one of the beach chairs? Stupid,"
"The sand is warm,"
"You hate sand,"
"I hate the sand in Iraq, there is a difference,"
I nodded slowly, imagining how it must have been for him.
My eyes wandered down Eddie's torso and I saw his scar from where he was shot, tears formed in my eyes and I struggled to keep them at bay. Eddie's eyes grew concerned and he looked at where my gaze was, and he sighed. "Sam, let's not do this today, please. Today is supposed to be a happy day. Our honeymoon, please,"
"But I caused that," I whispered.
"And I caused us to almost lose the twins because I was stupid," He set his hands on my shoulders, "We have both made mistakes that the other may not see as their fault. I don't see me getting shot as being your fault just as you don't see the car accident as being mine, but here we are. I love you regardless, nothing is ever going to change that,"
"You promise?"
"I promise."
~~~
The rest of our trip was filled with laughs and smiles. We ended up dancing on the beach in the rain, cuddling while we watched Rio, swimming a ton, driving around the city, cooking together, and enjoying our alone time while we could.
The trip may have been shorter than most, but we still enjoyed the getaway and became even closer because of it, now we just have to go back to LA, wait a month, and have the gender reveal for our twins.
I couldn't be happier with this life, I am excited for what the future holds for Eddie and me, along with our growing family.
