Alexandra's POV:
I bounced my leg and looked at the door.
Then I checked my phone.
It's only been 5 minutes. She's only 5 minutes late.
I put my phone down and looked at the door as it opened.
"Let's get this over with." Virginia sighed and sat down.
"It's been a month. This could've been over with already."
"A random girl shows up at my house, declares she loves the woman I also love, and wants to fight for her. Here's something you should know about me, Hernandez. I don't give up easily. Your deal? Is bullshit. Nahikari and I aren't dating, but I'm not letting you near her. She doesn't want a relationship with me or anyone. She's got a lot on her plate right now and I'm not going to let YOU or anyone get in the way of that." She stood up.
"I'm not giving up." I said. She turned and looked at me. "I don't care who I have to go through. I'm not giving up on Nahikari."
"Fight all you want, but she'll never love you." She opened the door. "Not the way that she already loves me." She smirked and left.
Nahikari's POV:
"But first major news out of the United States. Current NWSL Champions, Utah Royals FC have announced that Mariana dos Santos Mendes will not be on the squad for their remaining matches this month. This season so far has been up and down for the Portuguese striker, who has spoken out many times on incidents in the league involving match officials and other players in the league. The league has fined her twice this season following comments she made during conferences. There have been rumors since the summer about her potentially moving back to Europe before the start of their season, but neither Mendes or Utah have confirmed or denied those reports." I sighed and saw my phone light up.
Vir
I smiled and answered. "What's up Vir?"
"Few things. First just wanted to hear your voice, check." I laughed. "Second, wanted to hear your laugh, check."
I shook my head. "Get to the point, Torrecilla."
She laughed. "I'm calling with a warning. Alex is in Spain."
"What?"
"She showed up at my place last month. With a deal."
"What kind of deal?"
"She'd leave me alone. No more random visits, no more messages. Leave me alone completely."
"If?"
"If I stopped talking to you."
"She does know we're teammates right? That's impossible."
"I know. And also, I really like you, Nahi. If I had to stop talking to you? I don't know how I'd get on with life. You make everything make sense."
I smiled. "What'd you tell her?"
"That you are a person. Not an object that is up for negotiation. She said she'd let me think about it. But I didn't need to. I saw her this morning." She sighed. "Told her to basically, excuse my language, fuck herself."
