Virginia's POV:
"I can stay as long as you need me to." I sat on the couch.
"Vir you know I love you, but if you don't get on the first flight back to Madrid, they'll never find your body." Mariana mumbled without looking at me.
"Damn girl." I said. "Fine, I'll go. But just," I sighed. "Don't shut down on me, Mari. I know Mapi is going to be on your ass." I smiled. "But she's not the only one who cares, ok?"
She nodded. "I just miss him." She closed her eyes.
"I know." I hugged her. "I wish I could bring him back, Mari." I whispered. "I really do. He deserved to meet his son. And you two deserved to continue being badass football siblings." She laughed. "I know you're hurting. I won't lie to you, it's going to hurt for a while. But we all got you. I got you."
She nodded and looked at me. "Promise me something?"
"Anything." I smiled.
"Be there for Gabriel no matter what." She said. "If I do shut down. Or need to just space out. Be there for him?"
"Always." I nudged her arm. "Aunty Vir is ready."
"Now go. I know you're waiting to see Nahi." I got up and laughed. "Just start dating already would you?"
"Hopefully when I call you, we'll be together." I got my bags. "I'm ready for this. I see you and Mapi. I want that type of love in my life."
"Well if you want Mapi, she's all yours." Mariana smirked.
"Hardpass. I don't know how you put up with that little shit."
"And I don't know how Nahi puts up with you." She got up. "Text me when you land." She hugged me. "And thank you again for coming. It means a lot to me and my family."
"We're all one big family now. I'll see you soon." She nodded and I left.
Alexandra's POV:
I sat with Beck. "Anything?" Zariah walked in.
"Nope." I sighed. "Pain in the ass is still asleep." I looked at her.
"Can you not call him a pain in the ass? He was shot, Alex."
"He'll always be a pain in my ass." I said. "No matter what. It's out of love, he knows this." She laughed. "Speaking of love, where's your boyfriend?"
"We broke up. You'd know that if you called your sister to check in." She looked at me. "Instead of disappearing."
"Yeah, I'm a shitty person. You aren't the first person to tell me." I sighed and rubbed my forehead.
"You're my sister, Alex. My TWIN sister. If there's one person in this world you know you can always count on it's me." She said. "But I'm the only person who never knows what's going on with you."
I shook my head. "This isn't the time or place, Z."
"It's never the time or place. Only with it's convenient for you."
"Beck got shot." I turned to her. "And you wanna have a family meeting?"
"Because Beck got shot!" She said. "And you just disappear. You shut down on me when mom and dad died. Beck was there for me. Now Beck got shot, and you're just," She sighed. "Never mind."
"No, say it. I'm just what?"
"You're emotionless." She said. "I can't go to you for comfort. You're numb to everything."
"Are you two done?" Beck groaned.
"You're awake." Zariah jumped up.
"Yeah, I woke up like 5 minutes ago. You two were too busy fighting to notice." He looked around. "What happened?"
"You got shot." I said.
He looked at me and smiled. "Aw. You flew here to see me? All it took were a few bullets? Take notes, Z. Near death experiences are the only way to get her attention."
"Not funny." I said. I looked at my sister. "You get hurt enough, you get used to it. You become numb. I'm trying to work on it. But shit piles up and I can't sort through it all."
"I'm your sister, Alex." She said. "And he's your best friend. We're here to help you sort through it."
"No. Don't volunteer me to sort through Alex's shit." Beck said. "I almost died."
"But you lived."
"I will unplug myself right now."
Nahikari's POV:
I sat on my couch and read a book. There was a knock on my door.
My peace is always getting disturbed.
I got up and answered it. "Vir." I smiled. "When did you get back?"
"Just now." She said. "Can I come in?"
"Yeah." I let her in and shut the door. "You flew here?"
"Yep." She nodded. "And then came right here." She said. "We wanted to do this face to face. I've been waiting for this. I've thought about what I'd say over and over again." She smiled. "And now I'm standing in front of you and I forgot everything."
"Then can I start?"
"Go ahead." She said.
I looked at the couch. She sat down and I sat next to her. "I keep telling you I'm not ready for a relationship. That I have so much to focus on, I didn't want to add anything else into my life." She nodded. "That is true, but I also didn't know how a relationship with you would be." I said. "I've seen how you are, Vir." I smiled. "Crazy Vir." I laughed. "Everyone says "why do you like her? She's crazy!" But that's exactly why I like you." I looked at her. "Because you're not crazy, you just know how to live your life." I took a deep breath. "And the way you acted after I told you I couldn't add more to my life? You were respectful. You didn't get upset when I told you. You said ok, I understand. And continued to be there for me."
"Because you mean the world to me, Nahikari." She said. "I'd wait 3 lifetimes for you." She smiled. "Because you are incredible."
"I'm ready, Vir." I whispered. "I want to try this. If you do?"
Her smile grew. "If I do? Nahi, there is nothing I want to do more in this world."
"Champions League? World Cup? Olympics?"
"Outside of football." She said. "Nahikari, can I take you out for dinner tomorrow? Not as friends?"
I laughed. "Of course you can."
