Nahikari's POV:
We are in the Algarve Cup final. Playing the hosts.
Mapi's been ranting about one of their strikers since we first got here. Who knows.
I thought she was with Alexia's sister.
"Nahi." Vir jogged up to me. "Can we talk?"
"Sure." I smiled. "What's up?"
"Um, this friend of mine." She said. "Has a crush on someone. Now my friend can be a little bit insane at times."
"Perfect friend for you." I laughed.
"Exactly." She laughed too. "And the person my friend likes. Well, let's just say they are worlds apart." I nodded. "Part of me whats to tell my friend to go for it, the other part thinks that the person my friend likes could do way better than my friend. As much as I love my friend, I think she's too wild. Too immature."
"If that's how you feel then, that's probably what's best." I said. "It seems like you care about this friend. Her being wild and immature could end badly for her and this person she likes."
"So she shouldn't go for it?"
"Maybe not now. Maybe grow up a little. Figure out what she really wants."
She looked down. "Yeah, I thought the same thing. Thanks, Nahi." She walked away.
We won the final. I stood with Alexia and watched Mapi talk to the girl. "Look at her." Alexia laughed. "Being awkward."
"Be nice." Jenni smiled. "Mapi has a crush." I looked down. "You alright?" Jenni put her hand on my shoulder.
"Huh? Yeah. Long tournament." I looked around for Vir. She was talking with some girls in the crowd. "I'll be in the locker room."
Alex's POV:
"Welcome to Spain." Zariah smiled. "France was great but this is all about relaxing. Plus the girls here are cute. You need a girlfriend." I laughed. "You always get everyone together, think about yourself. It's time, Alex."
"I haven't found anyone worth it." I said.
"Where should we go?"
I smiled. "I know the place."
Nahikari's POV:
Home at last.
I laid on the couch and closed my eyes. Someone knocking on the door disturbed me.
I got up and went to answer is. "Hi."
"Alex?" I smiled. "What are you doing here?"
"My sister and I were in France, now we're in Spain. I saw someone, asked if she knew you told her my name was Alex. She brought me right here." She smirked. "You telling people about me, Garcia?"
"I get texts from someone, my teammates never let it go." I laughed. "You came to Spain with your sister and you're here?"
"I wanted to see you." She shrugged. "Is that a crime?"
"Part of me whats to tell my friend to go for it, the other part thinks that the person my friend likes could do way better than my friend."
"No." I shook my head. "It's not a crime." I grabbed her face and kissed her.
Earlier
Virginia's POV:
I was almost there.
I was driving to see Nahikari. Well, more like surprise her. She didn't know I was coming.
Pulling over for gas, a girl walked over for me. "Do you play for Spain?" She asked.
I smiled. "I do. What can I do for you?"
"I'm a friend of Nahikari's. I'm here to surprise her." She smiled.
I thought about it. "Which friend?"
"I'm Alex." She said. "Alex Hernandez."
"You're Alex!" I said. "Yeah! Nahi told me about you. Yeah," I told her where to go.
"Great. Thanks." She smiled and drove off.
I sighed and got in my car. "Great. Alex is here." I closed my eyes. "You can do this. You're Virginia Torrecilla." I nodded. "Let's go."
I continued driving to Nahikari's. When I pulled up I saw Alex's car. The front door was opened. I got out and started walking to the door. I saw Nahikari grab Alex's face and kiss her.
I stopped and stood there. Nahi pulled her inside and the door was shut. Looking down, I walked back to my car.
Nahikari's POV:
"What was that for?" Alex asked me. "I thought you and Vir?"
"There's nothing. She doesn't like me. I know she doesn't. I've thought about telling her, many times. But whenever I think it's my moment, I'm reminded that it's not."
"I don't know if I'm the person you need me to be." She said.
"Then just be that for 1 day." I said.
June 2020
Virginia's POV:
I was at the beach with Lola, Carmen, Jenni, Alexia, Leila, and Mariona.
Leila and Mariona were down near the water. I was off by myself.
"What!" I heard Alexia yelled.
"Oh, those sneaky little lesbians!" Jenni yelled.
Carmen laughed. "They've been together for a while. You two really never noticed?"
"No!" Alexia yelled.
They continued their conversation and I looked away. I felt someone sit next to me and I saw Carmen. "You're not your normal self." She nudged my shoulder. "The Vir I know would've pushed Leila into the water by now."
I laughed and looked down. "Maybe it's time for that Vir to disappear." I looked away.
"Come on. What's going on?"
"I went to surprise Nahikari." I looked at Carmen. "I was going to tell her, how I feel." I nodded. "On the way to her house, I ran into her friend Alex. Who was also here to surprise her. Ended up giving Alex directions. When I got to the house, I saw Nahi kiss her." I sniffed. "Some people get their happy ending. You and Lola. Alexia and Jenni. Leila and Mariona." I scoffed. "Even Mapi. But me? No, I don't get my happy ending." I stood up and grabbed my stuff.
"Where are you going?" Carmen asked.
"I don't know."
