Alexandra's POV:
"We'll see you back in about 6 weeks. Make sure everything looks good." My doctor said. "Any questions?"
"Yeah um," I looked at him. "What can I do for the pain? I tried the normal stuff but it didn't even help it a little."
"That's normal." He said. "I was going to write you a prescription anyway. The pain should lessen in about a week. It's normal for you to feel some discomfort. You have a very serious leg injury, Alex. Pain is normal."
"Thanks." I nodded.
I got my crutches and went to the waiting room. "Well?" Zariah stood up.
"Back in 6 weeks. He wrote me a prescription for the pain."
"We'll drop it off." She said. "Let's go home. Jayson is coming tonight."
I nodded. "Ok."
We got back home and our uncle showed up. He cooked dinner and tried to lift my spirits. Nothing helped.
My one outlet was gone now. For who knows how long. And even when I do get back on the ice, there's no guarantee I'll be the same.
"Alex?" I looked up.
"Hmm?"
"I asked if you wanted to watch a movie tonight." Jayson asked.
"Oh um," I looked down. "You know? I'm actually pretty tired. And my leg hurts right now, I think I'm just gonna go lay down. You guys go ahead though. Maybe tomorrow." I said.
"Need help?" Beck asked.
"No. I got it. You guys go. I'll be fine." I smiled.
"Alright." They went to the living room. I watched them and sighed. Then grabbed the pill bottle from the doctor.
Oxycodone
I got up and went to my bedroom, taking one and laying down.
I scrolled through all the sports news.
Spanish players return to preseason after World Cup win.
Mariana Mendes nominated for Portuguese Female Play of the Year after Golden Boot performance in Australia.
Nahikari Garcia reflects on successful tournament ahead of new season.
Alexandra Hernandez out for season after broken leg in preseason.
I locked my phone and closed my eyes.
"It's her or me." I said. "You clearly can't have us both."
"She doesn't WANT you." Virginia said. "Give her some space would you?" She pushed me.
"Don't touch me!"
"Stop." Nahi put her hand towards me. I pushed her out of the way.
"Nahi." Virginia grabbed her. I looked at my hand. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine." She looked at me. "You need to leave."
"Nahi I,"
"Get out!" Virginia stood up. "Get the hell out of here!"
I stared at Nahikari. "I'm"
"Go! Before I call the police!" Virginia yelled. "Now!" I walked to the door and went outside. I looked back once more and saw Virginia walking to the door. "Get out of here." She walked outside. "Leave."
