Virginia's POV:
"Mari and Mapi are married. Mariona and Leila are engaged. And Jenni and Alexia have been married basically our whole lives and we didn't know." Nahikari said. "Anything else I'm missing?"
"I think we're all caught up now."
"Are we?" She got up. "Why are we all so secretive? I mean even us! We hide our relationship!"
"I don't think it's being secretive. I think it's more of we're all so involved in everything. We're so close that there are some things we just want to keep to ourselves. I'm so happy everyone knows you and I are together. But I don't regret taking the time we did to just have it be you and me."
"Smooth."
I shrugged. "I try."
"I still can't believe you didn't tell me Jenni and Alexia got married."
"I wanted to. I really did but I couldn't. They made me promise to keep it a secret."
"And you did."
"And I did. For 4 years." I smiled. "Not bad huh?"
She laughed and sat next to me. "Not bad. Are you gonna stay here for a while or you gonna leave?"
"I'm gonna stay. If that's alright with you."
"I guess that's okay."
"Not sick of me yet?"
"Not even close."
We spent the next few days together. It was great. It feels like we never get time together because of our schedules.
Take whatever time we can get and enjoy every second.
After we ate, my phone rang. I answered. "Look, Mapi. I'm not interested. I'm with my girlfriend. And Mariana is like a sister to me." Nahikari looked at me and laughed.
"Vir shut up. Mariana needs you."
I sat up. "What happened?"
"Her grandmother passed away."
I stood up and looked at Nahikari. "I'll be there as soon as I can." I hung up. "I have to go to Portugal. Mariana's grandmother passed." I started grabbing stuff. "I need a flight like right now."
"Hey."
"Where's my suitcase?"
"Vir."
"It was over there now I can't find it."
"Vir!" She grabbed my hands. "Look at me. Take a breath." I stopped. "I will grab our suitcases and pack some stuff. You get us flights."
We got everything together and flew to Portugal. We landed and I called Alexia.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Mariana's grandmother passed away." We walked to the exit. "Mapi called. I have to go, Ale. Mariana, she's."
"I know. Let me wake up Jenni. I'll call everyone. We'll be there in a few days."
She hung up. Nahi and I got in a car and were on our way. We got to Mariana's. "Hey." I saw Mapi. "How is she?" I hugged her.
"Tired. She cries all night." She sighed. "I don't know what to do."
"How about you get some sleep? We'll sit with her." Nahi said.
