Later that evening we had gotten "interviewed" about what happened then after I went home. I was expecting to see my father but he was a no show. Fine with me.
At school the next day there was a "Spiderman Mania" going around because what he did for us. I decided to wear a red shirt and a spider necklace just to show my support.
When I was walking inside I saw Peter and ned and I decided to listen to their convo.
"Dude dude dude dude. What is it like being famous when nobody knows it's you?"
Ned asks Peter
"Crazy dude"
Peter says back
"It's crazy...Should we tell everyone?"
Ned asks confidently
I laugh quietly so they don't notice me
"No"
Peter looks at Ned with a confused face
"Then should I tell everyone?"
Ned asks again
"No Ned. No that's not a good idea"
Peter says and I decide to intrude
"Hi boys"
I say walking up beside Peter
"Hey Vee"
Ned says with a small wave and I smile
I look at the time and groan
"We're gonna be late to class ya know"
I look around at the almost empty hallway and then down the hall to our Spanish class.
"I-I'm not going to class"
Peter says
Me and Ned pause walking and stand infront of him
"You're already in so much trouble for missing the decathlon"
Ned says and I nod agreeing.
I sigh
"Well you two can figure that out but I'm going to class"
I walk away to class and hear them whispering as I leave.
At lunch I sit with the guys and read.
"How many books do you have Vee"
Ned asks and I laugh
"Too many"
I glance over at peter who looks worried
"You ok?"
I ask him in a soft voice closing my book
"I got detention"
He says and I frown
"Ned did try to warn you.."
I say and he nods
"Yeah yeah I know"
He looks around then looks at Ned then me
"I admit. I am spiderman-"
He starts to whisper and my eyes go wide
"I knew it"
It wasnt much of a "speculation" and more of a confirmed thing for me but I'll play along with him.
"But there's this winged dude who keeps trying to steal alien tech and I need to take him down but It's hard to do with school"
Peter goes on to say
I open my mouth then shut it thinking about how this is all a "mission" and that winged dude might be my fathers partner
"Isn't there people who take care of that kinda stuff though?"
I ask and then my eyes trail to Ned who's mouth is wide open
"Can we back that up to the point where you admitted to Vee your.. you know who"
"I figured it out"
I say
Before our convo can go on for any longer the bell rings and we all go our own ways.
After school I take in the nice weather and sit on the stairs of the school to read a new book.
I hear footsteps behind me but decide to ignore them until I hear a familiar voice
"Hi"
I hear Peter say behind me. I look up at him and smile.
I close my book and stand up facing him
"What are you still doing here?"
I ask and he looks back at the door
"Ditched detention"
"Right you had detention.. wait did you say ditched detention"
I cross my arms and look at him with a strange look
He chuckles
"Yeah I was about to go home to do some research on S.M stuff"
I'm guessing he means spiderman.
"And what are you doing here..?"
He asks and I hold up my book
"Nice weather plus a good book. Perfect combo"
He nods then starts to walk down the steps closer to me.
"Wait have you been to delmars?"
He asks and I shake my head
"You have to go the sandwiches are amazing"
"Wanna go now..?"
I hesitate while asking.
"As long as you drive"
He says with a smile
