Chapter Twenty Eight: Heart Eyes

Peter says he had to go do some spiderman business but then he says we should go on out date after the decathlon meeting is over.

I wait outside then see a black car pull up and Peter walk out of the back seat and the car drive away.
"Bye happy"
He says to the driver inside as the car goes away.

"Hi"
I say and he smiles
"Where should we go?"
He asks and the first thing that comes to my mind is the library so I blurt that out
"Library? No wait never mind that's boring"

Peter shrugs and takes a step closer
"That actually sounds like a good idea.. we can get food after"
He adds and I nod.

We drive to the library and I take his hand
"Come to my favorite second"
I whisper and guide him to the superhero section
"Do you think you and 5 year olds are the only ones checking these out"
He jokes and I roll my eyes.

Then Peter guides me to the tables.

"We sat there the first time we hung out"
He points to a table then sits down and I follow.
"Now look at us"
I whisper

"I didn't actually need tutoring I just wanted to hangout with you"
I say turning my head to him and he chuckles
"Really?"

I nod
"But you did show me another way to look at chemistry so I did end up getting an A+ on that quiz"
"It's weird how things work"
He says and I sigh

"I think Mr.Stark will like you"
He says changing the subject
I confusingly look at him.
stark? like tony stark..?
He notices my look and tries to explain
"I- I think he would be able to figure out your powers. when i saw him a little bit ago i mentioned you and he thought was a good idea"

"Oh. Okay"
I say then look around
"We should go"
I say standing up.

I take his hand and start to walk to the exit but then one of the librarians stops me.

"Veronica! You're just the person I was hoping to see"
She says to me and I look at Peter then back at her.

She hands me a stack of books on what seems to be Asgardians and smiles
"I found some copies of these books you're always checking out so I'd like to give them to you"

She holds them out and I just look at her
"For free?"

She nods
"Yup. I'm sure you'll take good care of those"

I let go of peters hand and take the books from her then hug her.
"Thank you"

We leave and I stuff the books in my backpack that sits in my car
"She was cool"
Peter says leaning on my car.

"I really do love those books a lot I'm happy she did that for me"
I say and close the back door

We don't break eye contact for a few seconds then he laughs
"What?"
I ask and take his hand into mine
"You're so pretty and cool and-and perfect I don't know how.. this happened"

I start to blush so I get in the car
"Parker where now?"

He sits down in my car and shrugs
"Wherever"

We end up just going back to his house and just talk. I'm finally able to talk freely, more free then I already had been since he knew everything bad.3
