Good Morning

Meredith's POV:
It's been three days since I saw Cormac. It's Monday and I don't have work. It's five in the morning when I roll over to reach my phone. I pick it up right as it goes off.

Cormac💕:
Morning babe

I smile reading his text. This man is driving me crazy. I just want to see him I miss him.

Me:
Morning 🥰
5:02

Cormac💕:
How'd you sleep?
5:02

Me:
Ok. You?
5:03

Cormac💕:
Why just ok?
5:04

Me:
Because I miss you.
5:04

Two minutes go bye with no response from Cormac and I get a little worried. Knock knock knock I hear a knock on the door so I push the blanket off of me get up and walk downstairs. I'm in sweatpants and a tank top. I open the door to see Cormac. "Hey." He says with a smile. I practically jump into his arms hugging him. He wraps his arms around me. "Hi." I reply. We stand with the door open in the door for a few more seconds before I pull away from him a little. I have my hands on his hips and his hands are hung over my shoulders our eyes are locked. "What are you doing here?" I ask quietly. "I came to see you. I miss you and I wanted a hug." Cormac answers. I smile "I miss you too. Here come inside it's cold." I say walking back into the house. "Be quiet the kids are sleeping." I say closing the door. He nods.

"Let me take you on a real date tonight. You me. No phones. Dinner. A walk. Conversations. Me staring into your beautiful eyes." Cormac says looking at me. I smile and shake my head when he says my eyes are beautiful. I walk closer to him placing my hand on his chest "mhm... then you take me home and I end up in your bed all night." I reply scrunching my nose. "Mhm. We cuddle all night long. I hold you as you sleep so you feel safe and when we wake up I kiss your forehead." He says I kiss him soft and quick. "I'll think about it." I say walking into the kitchen. "I really thought you were going to say yes." Cormac says looking to the ground then back up at me as I look over my shoulder at him. "No... I was." I say as he walks into the kitchen behind me. "Wha- Meredith." He says. I smile.

"The first time you called me Meredith my heart skipped a beat. I loved it, I still do but that first time it was so deep and something that we had yet to explore... you kinda said it out of nowhere..." I say "and you didn't know what to do. You looked at me holding you glass of whiskey that had one square ice cube in it. I thought I over stepped and freaked out but then you smiled. God Mer that smile you had." Cormac cuts me off. I smile and lean on the counter remembering what he was saying. "That smile could have killed me, I'm pretty sure it did. That's when I knew. When I really knew. I mean I had feelings for you before then but that night at the bar I fell hard." He continues I nod still smiling "you knew?" He asks surprised "the girls always know babe. You looked at me different... with a sparkle in your eye like you could have just dipped me sitting at the bar and kissed me right then." I sigh "I wouldn't have minded that. If you just stood up dipped me back and kissed me. I'm glad you didn't but I would have enjoyed it..." I reply Cormac just looks at me. "After I smiled I took a sip of my drink and tucked my hair behind my ear..."

Flashback:
I hear the door bells ring as the door to joe's bar sweeps across the floor. I walk into the smell of old beer, and stale nuts. It's loud people are yelling and talking, there's music on. I scan the room to find Meredith when I see her sitting at the bar. Her hair down, looking completely breathtaking. "Doctor Grey." I say approaching her she turns on the bar stool to meet my eyes "Hayes!" She replies I sit down next to her. "What are we drinking?" She asks. "Do you like whiskey?" I question she nods. "Yes, I'm more of a tequila girl but I could go for whiskey." She replies.
