"Shotaro?" I ask curiously when I saw the male standing right in front of my locker. He turns around to face me and smiled cheekily.

"You're here! I was waiting for you," he jumps up a little out of excitement.

"Why were you waiting for me?" Weird. He probably wants something from me.

"No, I don't want anything from you. I just wanted to go to class with you," he reads my face seriously and frowns sadly at the fact that I thought of him in a bad way.

"Yeah sure let me just grab my book,"

After I took all the necessary items, we walked to class together. As expected, the both of us didn't interact with each other a lot and it made me wonder why he waited for me in the first place.

"Did you study for the test?" He questioned, still turning the pages from his chemistry notebook.

"Heck yeah I did, but that only went on for a second because I know I won't get good grades no matter how hard I study," I said nonchalantly. I took out a piece of gum from my pocket and unwrapped the plastic around it. I threw it in the trash and put the thin piece of candy in my mouth.

"Why not get a tutor? I think that will help," Shotaro suggested which made me roll my eyes. Yeah, sure tutor might help but what if the tutor is attractive? Not my fault I studied his face instead of the subject.

Shotaro closes his book and placed it in his bag as soon as we arrived in front of our class. "Not gonna work," I said and took a seat at the back of the class while Shotaro sits in the front row.

A few minutes after we got in, the teacher walks in with a cup of coffee in one hand and a stack of papers in the other. She puts down both items and smiled widely at the class, knowing that we aren't ready for the test.

She looks at me for a second and frowned. "Sungchan, throw the gum away please," everyone stared at me, some were even giggling which made my face heat up. I got out of class and threw the gum away in the nearest bin. Shit, there's no need to embarrass me in front of the whole class.

When I got back to my seat, the teacher had already passed out the papers. I stare at the white paper below me, the words printed on it were big, but some were small. The more I stare at it, the more it begins to fly out of place, some were even wiggling. I rub my eyes to make sure I'm not imagining anything but everything was still the same.

"Alright students, you have exactly one hour and fifteen minutes to answer all questions, you may start now," the sound of flipped pages echoed through the room.

The room that used to be loud and noisy has now become dead silent. No one is whispering or passing stationaries. My eyes weren't on the paper, instead, it was roaming around the room, examining the others focusing on their paper instead of answering the questions on my paper. I haven't even written my name on it.

I let out a huff and picked up a black pen I found on the floor and wrote my name on the front page. I rested my cheeks on the table and flipped it lazily.

A, B, C, and D. What was the last thing I ate that starts with one of these letters?

Bread.

I circled all of them B without hesitation. When I reached the last question, I read it. The reaction of alkenes with bromine water? Heard of those before but never really cared about it.

B it is.

I got to sleep half of the time before handing it back to the teacher. She had always given me this glare that makes me want to run away. It feels like there is something she has been wanting to tell me but it's not coming out of her mouth, instead, she just kept it to herself which made me anxious every time I see her.

"Sungchan, meet me at the office later," she said when I gave her the paper. I responded to her with a nod and walked away. Shotaro waited for me behind the doors that led to this class. "How was the test?" He asked as soon as I walked out.

"Shut the fuck up you know my answer," he giggles. "Yea yea I know, but let's forget about it and go to the next class," I remembered what the teacher wanted from me so I told Shotaro that I might come in late since I had to meet Ms. Kim.

"Alright I'll inform Mr. Park," he said and made his way to the next class. I thought it's better to wait for the teacher to come out instead of going there early. She came out a few seconds later with the papers and other items occupying her arms. I took away the stack of paper from her to help her.

"Ah thank you Sungchan,"

"No problem," I said with a smile.

She walks in front of me and didn't bother to initiate a conversation which I was glad. We walked past a bunch of students hanging out in the hallway, including Donghyuck's friend group. Donghyuck made eye contact with me which of course, made me blush.

He walks towards me and at that moment I didn't know what I should be doing. Should I stop and say hi? Or maybe just smile at him? Is he trying to help me?

As expected, he isn't doing any of those. He greeted the teacher politely and walked next to her.

"Donghyuck, thank god I found you. Follow me to the office, I want to talk to you as well," she says. He turns around and glanced at me. "Sure!"

——

I put the papers down and stood beside her table with Donghyuck right next to me. I haven't realized till today that he is much shorter than me, which makes him cuter.

She puts down her belongings before taking a seat and lets out a cough. "I'll keep this short yea?" She begins.

"Sungchan, I realized that your grades have been dropping, and it worries me that you aren't doing anything about it," great, now she's exposing me in front of my crush, also known as the top scorer in school.

"I'm not sure if your mother knows about your grades or not, but as a teacher, I need to help you," she continues. I can see Donghyuck rocking side to side as she talks.

"So Donghyuck, can you help your young friend here, with his studies?" She asks innocently as she wraps her finger around my arm.

I clenched my jaw, a bit happy knowing that I'll get to talk to Donghyuck. On the other hand, Donghyuck didn't seem surprised. He went on with it.

"Of course, I would be happy to help him," he smiles.

"Thank you Donghyuck, I'm trusting you on this one. It might not be much, but I'll pay you-"

"Oh it's fine you don't have to pay me, I will gladly help him with an open heart," he cuts the teacher which made her relieve.

"Alright, thank you Donghyuck. Sungchan, this is your chance to get better okay? Both of you are dismissed," we bowed at her at the same time and left the office.

So much for talking about getting a tutor earlier. Gladly it's Donghyuck and no one else. I will gladly obey him. "Can I get your phone number?" Donghyuck stops me.

I went into a panic as soon as he asked for my number. Why is he asking for it and why does it have to be now? "It's for the tutor you idiot," he probably saw my flushed face.

"Oh yeah, sorry, let me type it out," I mumbled. He gave me his phone and I pressed a few buttons before returning it to him. "Thanks! See you soon kiddo," he smiles cheekily and pats my head, messing up my hair. He skips away and soon getting out of my sight.

I leaned against a wall and dropped down to the floor as soon as I felt weak in the knees. Everything was too much for me to comprehend, but it's making me happy. I felt so content, but I went back to reality when I remembered that this was all for studying and nothing more.
