"You buy those in restaurants and stores and shìt. Big waste of time since most buildings are gonna be locked."
Kirishima looked around intently at the shops and tall buildings, taking in everything in sight. Some things scared him, but he found a majority of the city fascinating.
He looked down at the magazine in his hand, trying to see if he could find anything on the streets that looked similar to the photos in the pages.
There was nothing found the streets, but Kirishima kept trying. Meanwhile, Bakugo didn't seem to get anything the redhead was doing, though he still followed anyway.
Kirishima reached a grocery store. Despite how dark it was, he could clearly see how big it was, and that made the store's logo viewable during the night.
He took a look at the magazine again, and stared back up at the building. A definite match. A smile appeared on his face, and he turned back to Bakugo while pointing.
"You want to go in that?" Bakugo asked. When the hardening-quirk user nodded, he just groaned. "Read the damn s-"
He suddenly paused midway, which caused Kirishima to look over in confusion. The blond brushed off what he said.
"You know what? Forget it. It's fùcking locked, Shìtty Hair! We won't be able to get in without some police officer busting in on our tail. Let's get out of here."
Kirishima blinked, not really understanding. He went over to the automatic sliding doors, which brought out more shouts from Bakugo, before tapping the glass.
It didn't move at all. The next course of action in Kirishima's brain was raising one arm up and smashing through.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Bakugo yelled, seeing the redhead about to punch through.
Before his arm could reach the mark, Kirishima felt two arms pulling him back, accompanied with shouting and cursing.
The Pro Hero managed to pull him far back enough to the sidewalk, safely away from the glass doors.
"What the fùcking hell?" Bakugo berated, forgetting how to restrain his voice from getting too loud or harsh. His hand was kept tightly around the redhead's arm."You could've broken your damn knuckles or something! Not to mention we'd be raising all the fùcking security alarms in this place."
Kirishima flinched. He'd done something wrong, he knew that much. This scene, it reminded him too much of something. The arm that was being held started shaking.
Suddenly, something in him broke and he started thrashing.
"You- HEY!"
Kirishima pulled desperately at his arm, giving out half-strangled sounding cries. Bakugo's grip didn't loosen. The Pro Hero was lucky there wasn't anybody around, or this would've raised multiple problems.
Quickly, Bakugo held Kirishima in a tight hold, careful not to let his tongue slip and accidentally say something he really shouldn't.
'This was a mistake. A big fúcking mistake.' He thought, trying to find some way to calm Kirishima down.
By then, Kirishima was kicking at the air. It wasn't a problem holding him still, since Bakugo was much stronger.
Still though, he needed to make Kirishima calmer, not only for the redhead, but for himself as well. With the only way he could think of, Bakugo turned the ex-kidnapping victim around and embraced him in a tight hug.
He could still feel some wriggling movements, but those quickly died down. Bakugo wasn't sure if it triggered something in Kirishima, but he was glad.
A dazed look was in Kirishima's eyes, like he was zoning out. He shook his head and looked at the Pro Hero. He quickly averted his eyes and stepped back.
With a feeble hand, he pointed back to the direction of the hospital, and started walking back before the other could say anything.
Bakugo could've easily caught up with Kirishima, since the latter was only walking, but he stayed behind a bit. The magazine that the redhead was holding was on the floor, so the blond picked it up.
He flipped through the pages, staying a beat behind Kirishima. He realized his past-boyfriend's vision must've been really amazing, since he couldn't make out any of the pictures.
Once they reached the hospital, Bakugo had no idea how Kirishima was going to be able to go back to his room without being caught.
The hospital walls were smooth for the most part, and the windowsills were very thin, and not to mention spread out widely.
"God, you're insane." Bakugo watched as Kirishima began climbing a tree.
The hardening-quirk user was struggling a bit because his arms were weaker than ideal, but he managed. He took a look down at Bakugo.
It seemed like the Pro Hero wasn't going to join him, so he continued upwards, miraculously making his way to his room's window.
Down on the ground, Bakugo was watching guard. The curtains on the hospital windows were closed, but they could open at any moment. There was also a high possibility of security cameras or people on guard.
It was like hoping the pill you took wasn't the poisonous one, out of the two pills you were given.
Slapping his forehead, he began to wonder why he even did this in the first place. But of course, he already knew the answer to that.
——
Bakugo never did return the magazine to Kirishima. He was already in his home when he realized that.
Even in the dead of night, he still didn't feel like falling asleep. He ended up taking the magazine and flipping through it.
A few crayon marks were circled around certain brands and foods. After what happened today, Bakugo figured he should buy at least one of the products as a gift.
But before that, he searched for the store they were just at and looked at the category. It probably wouldn't be appropriate to choose the gift from there, but he doubted Kirishima would know which product came from where.
What would he even buy? Kirishima was technically an adult in age terms, but something more childish would probably make him happier.
Groaning, Bakugo plopped the magazine onto the desk. He was a mess.
To clear himself up, he took a shower and brushed his teeth. Then he did a quick rundown of his schedule the next day and checked his phone.
There were updates on the logo. There were requests to have Kirishima draw the logo again, in hopes of a more accurate reference.
Bakugo didn't have the energy to reply, so he just shut off his phone and mentally noted to respond tomorrow.
With lost energy dragging him down, Bakugo fell asleep. But not without a nagging feeling tugging at the back of his brain.
