Chapter 5

'Have you seen the OVAs?

Today Annie has started a work that her roommate couldn't finish, we've followed her and seen the many things she has done, but Zachary prohibited us from going to some of those locations. The OVA shows Annie a day after the expedition and her thoughts about it, she was worried, and Acay and I were also concerned if anything was going in a different direction.

Just like last time, some events happen differently and only some finish the way we know it. That lady's boyfriend survived and we don't know why or how. We watched them bid Annie farewell and they walked together away. It's like Haco said, we can't make changes by our decisions. It pains me, but we'll have to let them die.

(Y/N), Haco. Please be careful in the mission, if only our mere existence is changing the story, then we might have bigger problems than the Titans.

Yadhi and Acay.'

"We've got a ten-meter closing in from the left!" A soldier announced. My trance broke and I turned my head to my left, watching a pure Titan closing in on us. "Forward! Ride for all you're worth!" Ordered Commander Erwin. Today is the recon mission, the day Annie tries to take Eren in her Titan form and failing miserably because of Mikasa and Levi, but with her knowing that I'm also a Titan, she'll try to take me too. I can't let that happen, I have to clear my head and use what I've learned from the Captain and Eren in training.

I had a month to learn it all! A MONTH!

"Be straight with me. You think my friends have a shot at taking down a Titan?" I looked over at Eren as he asked that to Oruo, wondering why the sudden question. "Really? I should certainly hope so, otherwise what the hell have they been training for? Now listen, and listen well. Prepared or not, you're all Scouts, which means the time is nigh to choke back those fears and--!" Aaaand he bit his tongue again. We rode until the sun lightened our way, now we're in the open field, where Titans could come from any direction. "Long-range formation. Let's go!" Shouted Erwin from his position, everyone started dispersing to their prepared positions, I looked at where Haco is going and when I saw he was going with Armin I felt a sense of insecurity wash over me.

Heavy breathing. The goal of this expedition is evasion. To alert comrades use a red smoke signal, black is for Abnormal Titans, purple is for some kind of emergency, for me those are the basics and when Eren and I encounter Annie I have to use the purple one so others can come earlier. Levi gave me a gun for a purpose before the mission, I can't disappoint him, I have to gain his trust. A cloud of green smoke was shot in the air, the Commander changing the direction of the formation. This is the time when Armin finds Annie, and now with Haco helping his ass out, I have no idea how they'll get out alive.

Haco and Armin have shown to us they have a high intelligence this past month, none of us could deny it, these two make a perfect combination, and truly, I never thought I would see my cousin making more friends or simply studying in any case. If my cousin remembers every single detail I told him about this mission then he'll be fine, but we kept our main goal: If anyone that we know has to die, then it'll be kept that way.

I tried to keep a good composure this past month, with Haco by my side I didn't feel so alone, and I got to meet everyone in Eren's circle. I mean, Mikasa still holds something against me, but I brushed it away because Armin told me to. If looks could kill. Since I like to eat a lot, Sasha and I became friends immediately, Connie and Histor-- I mean Christa, were next, they have a comfortable and funny aura around them. Now Reiner, Bertholdt and Ymir were harder to open to, but forgetting that Bertholdt's the Colossal Titan for a moment, he's a gentle guy who gets embarrased by the simplest of things. It was cute. It's ironic, these three know I'm a Titan and yet they don't try anything, maybe so others don't suspect. Jean... We respect each other. He recommended me how to hold the swords right and helped me to pass the many gear tests Levi put for me. I see him as a friend because he lends a hand, but I have the feeling it'll be a while until we warm up to each other.
