"A One-Shot in which we follow (Y/N) and Haco's search for the Egregor outside the Walls."

The morning sky was somewhat littered with stars and the moon was visible in the tiniest of darkness that still lingered. As Haco and I galloped far from Wall Rose, I couldn't help but turn my (E/C) eyes for the last time at the place I grew to love as a home. I wondered if Levi is already reading the letter I left him, and what everyone will think about this mission as grandpa explains it to them. I felt my heart break the more distanced I got from my family, and my blood ran cold when I saw Haco crying silently. He was the one that wanted to come with me, and even if I want to tell him to go back we both know it's impossible, we have an obligation to know what's going on in our family that caused Haco's grandfather to use me as a toy to kill the shifters.

As we slew titans that appeared from nearby trees, my mind was filled with many thoughts. Will this explain my flashes of memories? Will this explain to me who were the people I saw his grandfather in that place? Will this entire shit finally tell me why I began feeling so strange after that night in that chapel?

Haco and I stared at the rapidly decomposing flesh in silence. Four titans down in a matter of minutes, I couldn't help but think there are still things we don't understand, and I wondered what that experimentation did to me... Perhaps something identical to the Ackerman Clan? No, I didn't have a moment in which I awakened a power. With a nod, Haco and I went back to our horses and made our way to Wall Maria, since Eren closed the gates we will have to leave the horses behind so we can use our gear. Once on the other side, I will have to transform.

I halted my horse when I noticed Haco wasn't riding beside me, and I turned to look at him as he stared at an abandoned town. Half of it was destroyed, it was evident that the townsfolk did everything to survive, but it was in vain, there was no single corpse close by. "Sometimes I wonder..." Haco started, making me stroll over to him. "Did Reiner and Bertholdt... Ever felt guilty about this...?" His lips twisted as his voice failed him. I furrowed my brows, saddened at his chain of thoughts, I pat his shoulder gently. "I wish I could know the answer to that. This is genocide and without reason..." I finished, and he sighed heavily. I raised my head toward the sky. There have been countless stories written about the way this world used to be, before Ymir Fritz and the titans roaming around, but that's all they are: Stories.

"We'll make sure to find Reiner." I said as I watched the last stars vanish before my eyes. Maybe they're dying right before me, fading from existence in the blink of an eye. "When we finish with the Egregor." Haco only nods, and he doesn't ask for more details. Will we have a better life after this?

After an hour and with the sun illuminating us from above, the Wall came into view along with unwanted memories. We were just next to Shiganshina, maybe a few minutes away because I could see the gate from our position. We unmounted the horses and grabbed the supplies as quickly as we could, I could hear weird noises getting closer to us and I didn't like it one bit, with our ODM gear, we stepped onto the Wall and immediately looked down to stare at three titans. "Jesus, they won't give up." Haco muttered, trying to calm his nervousness. I let out a harsh huff. "It's a miracle we reached the Wall without injuries. We should have started the mission sooner."

"No matter." He shrugged. We carried the supplies to the edge of the Wall and our eyes widened at the immense world that we are about to step into. "I'm afraid that from here on out we will find a large concentration of titans. Be mindful that I can't be watching your ass all the time." I affirmed, stretching my arms and legs and yawning out loudly, much to Haco's amusement. "Yeah, yeah. Then don't get distracted by the tiniest of things, (Y/N)." The two of us placed a hand on the other's shoulder, inhaling and exhaling deeply. "Okay..." I muttered to myself many times, before jumping off and making a cut on my arm. I transformed in that instant and turned around to find Haco grappling his way to my shoulders with our bags. I heard him sigh as he sat and made himself comfortable, and I began running forward, into the unknown.
