"Could you hand me that book?" Eve asked as she looked down at Tom, who was flipping pages through an old book. He lifted up his arm, giving the book to Eve as she placed it onto the shelf.
It had been two days since Tom arrived to the Noir Estate and Eve wasn't sure what they were, but words didn't mean much as his actions spoke much more.
"What are you doing, love?" he asked as he eyed her carefully.
"Sorting them out", she replied. The ladder she stood on was shaking a bit, her eyes widening as she felt her balance lose itself.
Tom noticed this, grabbing the sides of the ladder as a way to maintain stability. Eve looked down at him, an amused smile appearing on her face.
"Come down here" Tom commanded gently. He held the ladder as Eve made her way down, her black hair bouncing a bit as she landed softly upon the floor. He smiled at her, laying a kiss on her forehead as he snaked his arms around her, pressing her body to his chest.
Eve relaxed into his chest, breathing softly. She felt his hands press against the back of her head, slowly stroking her hair.
"Shall we walk into the forest on this fine day?" Tom asked as he rested his chin upon the top of her head.
"I suppose so", Eve muttered. "Although I do enjoy it in here, it's warm and lovely an-".
"We can stay in here love", Tom smiled. "Anything for you". Eve pulled away, her eyes scanning the books that were sitting on the table beside her.
"Should we finish sorting these out or...?" Eve said as she eyed Tom, who was rubbing his chin. He met her gaze, an approving stare pushing her to grab a book and make her way up the ladder.
"I was thinking", Tom began. "That we just relaxed today and speak of sweet nothings to each other". Eve looked down, furrowing her brows in confusion.
"What?" Eve chuckled as she placed the book on the shelf, reaching down for another book. Tom handed her a book, watching how her delicate hands gingerly took it from his, their fingers touching slightly.
"You know what I'm talking about", Tom smiled. He would never admit it, not in a million years - but her voice gave Tom such butterflies, he felt as though he were in heaven whenever she opened her mouth, music pouring out as she spoke of her interests. Her voice was his home - her touch calming him when he experienced fits of rage.
"Of course love", Eve smiled as she made her way down the ladder once again. "We can sort these books later".
Tom wrapped his arm around her shoulder, leading her out of the library. She looked up at him, smiling.
"Game room?" she asked as she playfully rose her eyebrows at him. Tom nodded, smiling as she relaxed into his grasp. He buried his nose atop her hair, inhaling her scent deeply. He could hear a giggle come from her as they began up the stairs, watching Jinx tumble down the steps.

The scent of whiskey lingered in the game room, Tom's hands stroking Eve's hair softly as he stared at the roaring fire, sighing deeply."Do you know how much I deeply care for you?" Tom began. "I would and have killed for you".
Eve shifted a bit, their dark eyes meeting each other as she stared at the ceiling.
"I know you have", Eve muttered softly. "I've seen it with my own two eyes".
Tom stared at Eve, watching how her lashes fluttered closed as she blinked, his fingers cupping her face as he stroked her cheek.
"And I would do it again", Tom replied. "I've always wanted to kill Aurelia but she's Fabian's whore of sister".
"And?".
