The process of packing began after Malcolm's body was removed from the house. Everything finally felt normal. Well for now, at least.

Eve was currently going through her closet, sorting out what clothes she needed and what clothes she didn't need. She had changed her style over the years. It became less childish and more mature, lots of satin and plaid became involved. She moved a few strands of her hair behind her ears, going through her closet when she noticed a book in the pocket of one of her coats.

Why have I never noticed this, Eve thought. She chose to read it later as she continued going through her closet. A small slip of paper fluttered down from the top shelf of the closet, landing at her feet.

Bending down, she picked it up. Her eyes widened at the letter, her mind racing more than quick.

Dear Cordelia Noir,
Your husband Lawrence Noir has been accused of manipulating dark magic. We have taken him away and will deal with him as it is very dangerous and possibly deadly if he continues with what he does.
Ministry Of Magic

Eve folded up the letter and hid it in the waistband of her underwear as she was wearing a satin black slip dress. Her mind couldn't process it. Could he have possibly died while working with dark magic?, Eve thought.

Her attention was averted to her mother, who stood at her door frame. Her fragile hands held a dusty thick book that looked as though it had been hidden for a long time.

"What's that", Eve asked, looking at the book. Her curiosity had been bouncing all over the place.

"Photo album of your father and I. Then there's family photos", Cordelia smiled. Her heart warmed at the thought of Lawrence. It would be ten years without him in late October and she still felt as though she was crashing into him in the hallways of Hogwarts.

Eve and her mother sat on Eve's bed, which had a few books scattered on it and a comfortably sprawled out Jinx.

Cordelia opened the album, revealing a picture of her and Lawrence. They were freshly graduated from Hogwarts and were already planning out their wedding. Oh how lovely times were, Cordelia thought to herself.

Eve stared at the photos of her parents. Eventually one caught her eye. It was a picture of her father and mother in their uniforms. Her father had on a robe with a green scarf while her mother had on a blue tie. Ravenclaw and Slytherin, she thought to herself.

"I always felt as though you were a Ravenclaw", Eve said, looking up from the photo. Her mother nodded.

"The Sorting Hat never makes mistakes. At least I think that", Cordelia replied. She loved Lawrence. A cunning and determined man who loved his family. Although he kept a dark secret from them and it was for the good of them.

"What house do you think I'll be in?" Eve questioned.

"I don't know Evie, but which ever house you get sorted in, I will be proud of you".

Tom paced back and forth in his room. Two weeks before school starts up again, he thought. He had come up with multiple assumptions as to what awaited him at Hogwarts but none of them made sense. He stared at the grave from his window. His mind flashed back to the day he first felt it all.

Tom stared at the window as he always did. However this time, a funeral was taking place. Someone had died and finally joined the earth. He observed each of the faces before something caught his eye.

A red glint.

At first, Tom was able to ignore it but it kept happening. That's when he noticed the little black haired girl, who happened to be wearing the main cause of the red glint. A necklace.

Tom watched the little girl and her movements. Not much but he was watching her hold on to the necklace. Clearly, it had some form of significance to it. Then he noticed that she had turned to look at the window where he stood.

Their eyes met. The sting of energy he once felt mellowed out and it felt peaceful. She had eyes the color of onyx. Her hair was black and her cheeks were slightly red due to the cold weather. She wore a red ribbon in her hair and a black dress with Mary Jane shoes.

Tom could now see the necklace. It was a silver key with a red jewel.

Tom snapped out of flashback and back to present time. He took a deep breath and ran his cold, long fingers through his dark brown hair. He felt defeated slightly, but not enough for him to feel powerless. His heart tugged at him.

Why do I feel like this? Tom pondered. He was incapable of love apparently, but he felt something. He felt as though he had to get his hands on her. He had no idea who this girl was and he felt this strange craving for her. It was quite strange.

Is this what love feels like? he asked himself. No, I can't love, I'll be completely dependent on someone and that is simply pathetic, Tom thought. He saw love as a complete joke. But so did Evangeline.

Eve and her mother had been going through the photo album for the majority of the day. By the time they had finished, night had already fell upon them.

"Goodnight my little star", Cordelia said, laying a kiss on her daughter's forehead.

"Goodnight mom", Eve replied as she watched her mother leave her room, closing the door behind her.

Although they were leaving for England tomorrow night, Eve couldn't sleep. She changed sides of her pillow, tried counting sheep, she even tried meditating, but nothing worked.

Curiosity ate away at her. What is that book in my coat pocket, she wondered. Soon she just couldn't handle the thought of that book and crawled out of bed. She slowly walked toward her closet, opening the door, revealing the coat. Her hand dove into the darkness and pulled out the book. Her eyes widened as she read the title.

Secrets of the Darkest Art.

Eve's hands went down to her underwear, pulling the folded note out of the waistband. Her eyes kept rereading the words "dark magic" over and over again. She already knew that this book was banned from practically every wizarding school. Beauxbatons made it quite clear.

Her hands open the cover as her eyes met words that had been clearly written on the cover.

This book belongs to L. Noir. Return if found.

Her eyes got even wider. Why the fuck did dad own this, she thought. Her fingers played with the pages but she didn't dare open the book. She already felt awful enough after the whole Malcolm situation happened. That's when something hit her.

When Malcolm tried to kill me, I swear I saw part of my soul leave my body. That has to explain as to why I've felt so different lately!

She had came to her final conclusion. She already had a small idea as to what she was involved in but in order for her to fully understand, she would have to read the most forbidden book ever made.

And she managed to have it in her hands.
