"Don't forget to write back this break", Rhea said as she hugged Eve. The train had arrived at Platform 9 3/4 and everyone was saying their goodbyes to each other for the break.

"Gosh I'll miss you", Cleo commented, the two girls hugging each other. "Don't forget to owl me".

Eve smiled at Cleo before looking down at Tom, who was holding Jinx. Although he seemed disgusted by the animal, he was seemingly warming up him.

"Does your mum know I'm with you?" Tom asked as he nudged Eve. She stared up at him once again, their eyes connecting, the energy feeling more stronger this time. That's unusual, I haven't felt the energy this strong since the start of the year, Eve thought as her eyes scanned the crowd. She spotted a woman in a black sweater, blue skirt, her light brown hair held up in a low bun style. Eve began to smile as she walked towards the woman, motioning for Tom to follow.

Cordelia's eyes scanned over the huge crowd of people, looking for her daughter. She then noticed a girl in all black next to a boy in all black. She began to walk to her, her smile widening with each step.

"Evie!", Cordelia grinned as she quickly ran towards her daughter, pulling her in for a tight hug. "I've missed my baby".

"Hey mum", Eve replied, hugging her mother back. "I've missed you too. By the way, meet Tom. My boyfriend".

Cordelia turned and eyed the dark haired boy in front of her. He was tall and slender, pale but not sickly pale. His eyes were deep brown with speckles of green. She smiled at him.

"Hello Tom, I'm Cordelia", said Eve's mother as she wrapped up Tom in a hug. He awkwardly hugged her, Eve smiling at the sweet introduction.

"Come along you two, I've already decorated the house and made a lovely dinner", Cordelia gushed. "And Tom dear, make yourself at home once we get there".

Tom smiled to himself. Hopefully I can gain the trust of them both, Eve is seemingly warming up to me, Tom thought. He wanted to gain their trust so he could use it to his own advantage.

Cordelia rambled on about life on the drive back home. Eve and Tom sat in the backseat, his arm around her shoulders, his grip strong. She was staring out the window, the familiar scenery making her feel at home.

Tom also felt as though he were at home, as they lived in a similar area. As they passed by a cemetery, both Eve and Tom felt the energy bolt through them, causing Eve to slightly hitch her breath.

"You felt it?" Tom asked, staring into her eyes. She looked up at him, her head bobbing up and down.

"Evie darling, do you mind if you can help me with the table?" Cordelia asked as they drove up a long driveway. Tom's eyes widened as they approached the house. Holy fuck, his mind raced as he stared at the house, getting out of the car.

The mansion was a white two story building with a black roof and matching black trim. The greenery seemed to give the house a very simplistic yet gothic appearance. The trees surrounding the home made it seem isolated, which Tom enjoyed.

"You've got a lovely home, Ms. Noir", Tom said as he helped Eve with the bags.

"Why thank you honey", Cordelia said as she opened the door. Eve smiled at the interior of their home.

"Wow mum you really did go beyond this year", she beamed as the scent of gingerbread, spices, and garlic hit her nose. Tom's eyes traveled all over the house, smiling when he saw a picture of a young Evangeline, wearing the garnet silver key necklace.

"It's marvelous", commented Tom. "Where should I take these?".

"Oh Evie, would you show Tom to the guest bedroom?" Cordelia asked. "I'll go set the table".

"Sure", Eve replied, grabbing her luggage and Jinx. She walked up the stairs, letting go of Jinx as he pranced up and down the stairs. They entered Eve's room, Tom noticing the bay window. He walked over and stared out of it, feeling the energy as he noticed the cemetery. Beyond it, he saw the orphanage he once had resided in.

Eve sat down on her bed, which was a black four poster bed with black tulle canopy curtains tied to each poster. She watched as Tom's figure stood in front of the window, his slender appearance turning around.

"You look so beautiful darling", he smiled as he walked over to her, kissing her forehead. She warmly smiled at him, eyes gleaming towards him.

"Come on, I'll show you to your room", Eve said as she left her room, Tom following closely behind, his eyes moving all over the hallway. As she opened the door, Tom noticed the green and black theme of the room. It allowed him to feel more at home as it reminded him of the Slytherin common room.

"This used to be my father's study before he died", Eve murmured as she picked up a photo of her father and her, happily smiling at the camera. She deeply sighed, feeling two strong arms snake around her waist.

"Who's that?" Tom asked, not recognizing the girl and man in the photo Eve was holding. She smiled.

"My father holding me when I was three", she smiled. "Lawrence Noir. He was quite famous for a bit. I'm not sure why".

Tom's mind snapped when he heard Lawrence Noir. He remembered how he'd visit the man's grave before Hogwarts and how Lawrence knew many things, which did make Tom suspect he knew something dark. However he never thought it would relate to the girl he was holding right now.

"Some say he died due to an accident at the Ministry", Eve murmured. "I think it's absolute bullshit". Her hands felt Tom's broad shoulders as she leaned her head back, kissing him deeply.

"We should visit his grave, you know, to pay our respects", Tom suggested. He wanted to ask Lawrence more and more, his curiosity was shooting through his own mind.

"We can go later during break, we've got two weeks love", Eve smiled as she kissed Tom on his jawline. She could feel him smiling in the crook of her neck.

"I think your mother called us down for dinner".

"So how's Hogwarts like darling?" Cordelia asked as she cut a piece of meat on her plate. The sound of cutlery tapping against the porcelain filled the room as Eve thought over her response methodically.

"It's lovely mum. I got sorted into Slytherin", Eve replied as she continued to cut her food into small pieces. Tom watched her do it, curiosity taking over him once again.

"Ah just like your father. He was such a good man", Cordelia remarked as she sipped her apple cider. "I knew you would be in Slytherin. What house are you in Tom?".

"Slytherin", he replied as he put a piece of meat into his mouth, chewing slowly. He noticed how slow Eve was eating although her food was practically bite size.

"So how did you two meet?" Cordelia asked as she smiled at the two lovers. Eve and Tom made eye contact briefly, smiling at each other.

"In Transfiguration class, I believe", Tom say as he wiped his mouth with his napkin. "Eve is a very talented young witch".

Eve smiled, blood rushing to her cheeks. She assumed she and Tom would hate each other but now they're dating. What if he's using me?

"I'm gonna show Tom around, mum", Eve said, standing up. Tom stood up too, Cordelia stopping before they left.

"Dishes first then house tour", Cordelia said. Her voice had a bit of a serious tone.

"Of course", Eve smiled as she began to collect their plates, Tom watching her as she gracefully walked to the kitchen.
