"Eve", Tom sputtered out. "You're back".

Eve narrowed her eyes at the boy before turning around, pacing out of the Great Hall. Tom stood up quickly, following her. As they walked into the hallway, Tom exhaled sharply before speaking.

"Eve", he began. "I'm so sorr-".

"Fuck you Riddle", she said as she continued walking, not turning her head back to face him. Tom stood there in shock, his chest tightening.

"Eve", he muttered. "Please let me explain".

The girl paused in her tracks, whipping her head around.

"I didn't mean it", Tom breathed out. "It was j-".

Eve pulled up the sleeve of her robe, revealing the bandages that covered the cut. Tom felt his heart drop into his stomach, the pain suffocating him entirely.

"Didn't mean it?" she replied deeply. "I've heard that before".

"Eve", Tom said. "It's just hard to ex-".

"I don't want to hear it", she replied before turning around, walking swiftly away from him. Eve didn't want to admit but she deeply missed Tom. However she knew too well that he was rotten for her.

The water rippled lightly as the ash from his cigarette dropped into the deep lake.

Abraxas hadn't felt genuine happiness since the last time he saw Cleo and quite frankly - he already sensed that he would one day lose her forever.

He missed everything about her. He wanted to stroke her auburn hair one more time. He wanted to inhale her scent that always seemed to be masked by cherry perfume. He loved the way her laughter filled his ears whenever they laid together, his arms wrapped around her.

But he couldn't do that anymore.

The pale boy took another long drag from the cigarette before flicking it into the lake, watching it sink. Footsteps on the deck yanked him from his thoughts, his ears perked up for any more sound.

"Hello Malfoy".

"Hello Eve".

The black-haired girl sat beside him, holding her hand out.

"What?" Abraxas muttered as he looked up from her hand to her face.

"Cigarette", she replied dryly. "And a light".

Abraxas shoved his hand into his pocket, pulling out a cigarette and placing it onto the palm of Eve's hand. He watched as she placed the stick between her lips, his fingers fumbling with the lighter. She leaned towards him, watching how the tip of the cigarette turned into a bright cherry-red.

"So", Abraxas began as he moved away from her. "How are things between Tom and you?".

Eve stared at the water, brows furrowed in sadness as she took another drag from the cigarette.

"We broke up".

Abraxas looked up at her, staring at how she just stared at the water while taking yet another drag. He patted a shoulder in an awkward attempt at saying sorry.

"Why?".

Eve gulped thickly, her mind clouding with the memories of that night before she look up, staring at the horizon.

"It's complicated".

Abraxas moved his gaze to the water, watching how her eyes flickered in between gazes of the water and sky. He exhaled sharply before licking his lips, eyes staring at the clouds that seemed to pass over them too quickly.
