"You've made me weak darling", Tom began. "And I can't be weak".

Eve stared at him, feeling the hot streams climb down her face as he picked up his wand, pointing at her.

"Tom", she said with a shaky voice. "What are you doing?".

"I love you", he muttered. "Too bloody much".

Eve began to move towards the door before realizing that it had been locked. She crawled away from him, eyes still glued onto his.

"Tom", she said more deeply. "You're scaring me".

"I thought you were never scared of me darling", he said as he stood up.

"I'm not", Eve stammered. "I'm just drunk and-".

She looked up to see Tom now coldly smiling at her, goosebumps trailing down her skin as she began to stand up.

"You're not killing me".

Tom gulped thickly, his face inching closer to hers. He watched as her eyes widened in fear, a deep pit of doom rushing throughout her body.

Red - that's the first she noticed. His warm deep brown eyes that she had once loved so dearly had turned into a shade of violent crimson, a glint appearing as he flicked his gaze down to her necklace then back at her.

"Tom", Eve said more loudly now, hoping to break him out of his trance. She could feel her heart crack into pieces as she saw the eye color become more vibrant.

Tom didn't know what exactly was happening. He wanted to stop, to apologize, but he had to do it. He couldn't be perceived as weak. There were people out there that wanted to hurt Eve and he knew too well that it would deeply scar him.

In his mind, that was viewed as weakness. And it hurt him deeply that he saw it like that.

His fingers began to inch their way towards her necklace, fingers fumbling with the garnet jewel that was embedded into the silver key. The energy burned through Tom's fingers as he looked up at Eve, watching as her glossy eyes began to trickle tears down her crimson cheeks.

"I've always felt so...odd about this necklace", Tom said with faux sympathy. "Perhaps it could be dangerous?".

"Tom", Eve said deeply. "My father gave it to me. Don't you dare try anything stupid".

Defeat circled her mind as she heard him chuckle darkly, his fingers twirling around the thin chain.

"Or what?" he asked wryly. "You have no wand, what do you plan on doing?".

Eve gulped thickly as she stared at him, their eyes boring into each others. Please stop this.

"No", Tom smirked as he pulled on the necklace harshly, watching as the chain snapped, a gasp leaving her mouth as he quickly yanked himself away from her, slamming her against the wall.

"Tom!" she shrieked. "What the fuck is wrong with you?".

For a moment, Tom felt something try to pull him back into his soft self when he heard the pain in her voice. But it didn't work as he moved away from her, walking to his desk, where he laid the necklace down.

"Stay over there!" Tom yelled. He could feel Eve behind him, anger filling him up as he snapped around, his other hand whipping up into the air as he slapped her across the face, pure shock displaying on her face. Her hand immediately went to her cheek, still processing the fact that he had just smacked her.
