"Avada Kedavra!" Tom yelled, wand aimed at Eve. He watched as the girl turned her back towards him, the green bolt hitting her but not doing anything to her.

"What are you trying to do?" Eve asked, her voice filled with amusement.

"Why are you still alive?" Tom asked, ignoring her question.

"Why do you bother trying?" Eve retorted, narrowing her eyes at him.

Tom watched the girl slowly approach him. He didn't understand what got into him. He hated when people tried to get in his way. It just didn't settle properly with him.

"I don't think we've been properly introduced", Tom began, trying to change the subject abruptly.

Eve stopped him. "First you try killing me, now you're trying to get to know me? Make up your mind".

"Why are you here, Noir?" Tom jeered, staring at her.

"I was going to ask you the same thing, Riddle".

"I don't like how you're talking to me", Tom warned.

"Why not?" Eve asked, looking up at him. She slammed the book shut with the hand she was holding it in.

"Because", he began. "You should be afraid of me.

"You don't scare me, Riddle", Eve whispered in his ear as she walked off. Tom stood there, her scent circling him. What the fuck, he thought.

Tom sat in the Great Hall, the scene from last night replaying in his head. She was so different.

"What's wrong Riddle, you seem more quiet that normal", Atticus said.

"Just the lack of sleep", responded Tom.

He felt the energy sting his heart as his head shot up to look at the entrance. There entered Eve, who seemed to walk towards the Gryffindor table.

Why is she sitting with that half-blood Cleo, Tom thought to himself. His eyes watched as Eve sat next to Cleo, her laughter filling his ears.

"Hey baby", said Spencer McLaggen, making eye contact with Eve. She shot him a look of disgust.

"Piss off McLaggen", she hissed, moving a piece of hair behind her ear. Tom watched her as she continued chatting with Cleo.

How could someone look so beautiful while telling a narcissist to piss off, Tom wondered.

Eve turned to see Tom staring at her, their eyes meeting, the pang of energy melting away. She noticed that the energy began to slowly mellow out when she began to attend Hogwarts but it was always still there. She could always feel it.

Tom came to Potions class much earlier than usual. He had to figure out what he was going to say to Eve, but his thoughts were cut short when he felt the pang of energy run through his veins. The scent of raspberry and vanilla shot through his nose, her black hair flowing behind her. He heard the seat next to him move as she sat down in it.

"Today you will all be working with the person who you are sitting next to", Professor Slughorn announced. Eve turned her head to meet Tom's eyes, watching her.

Tom looked away as he realized that she was staring back at him. He turned to face the front of the class, the scent of Eve intoxicating him.

"For today's lesson, we will all be creating Amortentia", Slughorn began. "It is considered to be one of the most powerful love potions to be ever created. One drop of this will cause you to become obsessed with the person you are attracted to. However, you are able to smell the person you are attracted to. Good luck".

Tom and Eve got to work, not saying a single word to each other. He watched her as she spooned in powdered moonstone.

"Stir it counterclockwise after every spoon", Tom spoke, startling Eve a bit.

"Oh okay", she whispered, stirring the potion gently.

He caught himself watching her, how focused she was on stirring, trying to not overspill the potion.

She's so lovely when working on something, Tom pondered. He shook his head. What is wrong with me?

Eve looked up at him, her black eyes penetrating his soul. For a moment, it felt as though it was only them in the room, the energy calming down.

"That's all for today, students", Professor Slughorn said, causing Tom and Eve to break eye contact. "Tomorrow we will work on our potions again and smell them".

Eve packed her bag slowly, trying to not tear the cigarette she had managed to obtain.

"Ah Eve", Slughorn said. "I was curious if you would like to join something I am in charge of. It's known as the Slug Club".

Eve tried to not laugh at the name as it was unusual.

"You have incredible marks in all your classes. I must say, they're at the number one spot as of now".

Tom kept his ear against the door. Looks like little Ms. Noir replaced me, Tom thought. He couldn't believe it.

"I'd like you to join it as you are a perfect candidate", Slughorn finished.

"I'd love to join", Eve smiled. She was happy as she managed to surpass the notorious Tom Riddle and she knew it.

"Good good", Slughorn cheered. "There will be a supper party tomorrow at around 6:30 pm".

"That's lovely. I'll be sure to attend", gleamed Eve, packing up the rest of her stuff. "Have a marvelous day, professor".

Tom moved from the door as he heard Eve's footsteps approach. He watched her walk off before turning the corner and disappearing. Tom walked off behind her, only instead of following her, he entered the Slytherin common room.

"You're lying Riddle", hoffed Abraxas.

"I heard it all, she's apart of Slug Club now", Tom replied, smiling a bit to himself. "She's also number one in all her classes at the moment".

"God damn, Noir is the definition of beauty and brains", said Emanuel, who bit his nails.

Tom looked at Lestrange with disgust. What a prick, he thought.

"Maybe you'll finally get a chance with her, Malfoy", Fabian blurted. Jude and Robert laughed loud, causing Atticus to drop his book on Tom's feet. Tom leant down to pick it up, their fingers briefly touching.

"You guys are awful", Abraxas said. The door to the common room opened, revealing Eve and Rhea entering the room.

"Hey Noir, I heard you're apart of Slug Club now", shouted Jude Avery, slapping Robert's leg as they fell to the ground, laughing like children. Tom watched as the most immature people he had ever encountered laughed and rolled around on the floor like pigs in mud.

"Yeah and? That just shows how smart I am", Eve snapped. "He invited me to his supper party tomorrow. I know you're dying to see me".

Tom felt the heat rise up to his face. She was so sassy. He loved it. She will be mine, he thought as he watched her stand there.

"You guys are absolutely immature, what a shame. Such handsome boys with shit attitudes. Maybe I'll sooner fuck Malfoy", Eve bragged. "Maybe even Riddle will be lucky enough".

Tom watched her smirk to the group before leaving them all in shock.

What a woman, Tom thought to himself. He ran his fingers through his curls, trying to process the situation.
