Mattia pov
She was sleeping when I came to visit her today at the hospital. It was Monday so she was going back home today, and I always come over to help her out.
I smiled when I saw her because she looked so peaceful and carefree. I noticed she was wearing one of my hoodies and got a little happy knowing that she found comfort in wearing them.
I kissed her forehead and sat down beside her, letting her sleep.
" she has lost a lot of weight mr Fanelli," I heard Fiona say outside of Jordons room. I couldn't see her or Jordons dad but I could hear them both clearly, " still she's doing way better than she was last time at this stage."
" well it is a lot different this time round isn't it?" He said to her, " I've had a lot of help from Mattia taking care of her. Sometimes when I can't convince her to take her meds or eat he manages to do it," he said.
" he's a life saver," Fiona said, " honestly, I'm glad she's found someone like him,"
" me too," jordons dad said and I smiled, " He's done so much for her and me I don't think he even knows it,"
" he's a good kid. He has a pure heart and I'm glad you didn't manage to scare him off at the beginning of their friendship," Fiona said and Mr Fanelli, and I laughed a little bit.
" yeah I'm glad too," he said, " I can't imagine how much harder it would've been this time round without him,"
I was feeling so good about myself because here I was thinking that I wasn't doing enough. I always felt that I wasn't doing much to help her.
Jordons dad walked into Jordon's room, not really that surprised to see me. But by the look on his face I don't think he knew I heard everything he said.
" what are you smiling about?" He asked when he was looking at me.
I laughed a little and shook my head because he'd always get so defensive for no reason," nothing," i answered. He looked at me curiously but shrugged it off. He sat down on the chair on the otherwise of the bed, " so how was she today?" I asked.
" she was feeling really tired so I told her to take a nap but she insisted on staying awake to see you," he looked over at her and smiled, " I don't think she could though," he said laughing a little.
I nodded, " and everything else is ok?" I asked him, " there's not any problems?"
He shook his head, " the chemotherapy seems to be working out well so far, so we can hope that it continues to do so. She's still feeling weak but the doctors are encouraging her to move around, they're saying it'll help her. But she rarely gets out of bed,"
" maybe I could take her out on walks or something ?" I suggested.
Mr Fanelli started nodding, " that's a good idea, and I doubt she'd say no to that,"
" I won't be able to do it anytime this week," I said, " I've got a big game on Thursday and our coach has doubled our training hours," I told him, " but I'll start as soon as it's out of the way,"
He nodded, " thank you Mattia," he said smiling at me appreciatively.
" don't worry about it," I said to him, " it's the least I could do. I'll do anything I can to help her get better and feel like herself again,"
Jordon started stirring in her sleep and then she opened her eyes and yawned. She looked at us both watching her and she gave us a funny look.
" you both look like creeps right now," she said whilst stretching her arms and we both laughed. We helped her sit up, " I'm going home today, right?" She asked us both. When we nodded she looked happy with herself for remembering.
