Jordon pov
" you can't put them in here!" Papa said arguing with Fiona, my nurse, " isn't there any other rooms downstairs you can put them in?"
She sighed, " like I said Mr Fanelli, the orthopaedic Ward is full. I already asked Jordon if I could move someone in here and she said it's fine,"
" she did?" Papa turned to me and I looked up from my book. The room I stay in is a two person room that has a curtain in the middle, there was an extra bed so when Fiona asked if someone could stay in it for a while I said it was alright.
" yes," I answered him, " it's only for a little bit," I told him.
He sighed and turned back to the nurse, " how is the ward full? Why have this many people broken something this close to Christmas?"
Fiona was looking a little peed off, her and my dad were both argumentative people but I could tell she was trying to stay calm this time, " I'm not sure Mr Fanelli, the boy just needs a place to sit for a while until we can tend to him," she said whilst walking out of the room to get him.
Dad eyes widened and he looked back at me, " boy? No one said anything about it being a boy!" he yelled after Fiona. He sighed then turned back to me.
" why should that matter?" I asked him.
" because....." he scratched the back of his head, " just because,"
I rolled my eyes," what? That's not a even a reason why,"
Seconds later Fiona came back helping the boy come into the room, she sat him down on the bed next to mine, " you're going to stay here for a while, we'll try and get you an x-ray as soon as possible alright?" She asked him and he nodded in response.
Dad still looked annoyed about this whole thing but he was just being really dramatic, " and how long will that be?" He asked the nurse.
She shrugged, " no idea, but I trust you'll be nice to him until then?" She looked at dad questionably and he gave her a tight lipped smile and nodded, " good," she said sternly. She knew what he was like and she didn't believe him for a second. Neither did I.
As soon as she walked out dad turned to the boy, " don't get comfortable kid, you're not staying here long," he then turned to me, " I'm gonna see if there's another room we can move him to,"
I rolled my eyes and I knew there wasn't any point arguing with him, he gave the boy another intimidating stare and walked out of the room.
" wow, what'd I do to him?" The boy asked.
" nothing, he just doesn't like a lot of people. Don't take it personally," I said looking at him, "so how'd you break your leg?" I asked him, I don't really see a lot of people here around my age so you could say I was happy to talk to someone who was.
He grinned and it looked like he'd been waiting for someone to ask him that, "I don't think I've broken it, Probably just sprained it. But I was skateboarding down this steep hill," he took his phone out of his pocket, " my friend caught it on camera, wanna see it?"
I nodded and sat up and he passed me his phone, " Cool trick—damnn!" I said wincing, " that was a pretty bad fall," I said passing his phone back. I don't know why he thought his tall self would get anywhere on that baby sized skateboard.
He smiled and but his phone back, looking satisfied with himself," yeah but it was still pretty cool." He started looking around my room and some of my stuff on the desk between us. He saw my Polaroid camera and picked it up, " wow, I've always wanted one of these. I bet you got some pretty nice photos with this,"
