Mattia pov

It was probably around 8am and I was at Jordan's house. I was about to knock when her dad opened up the door at the exact same time.

He stopped to look at me. His expression was blank so I couldn't tell whether he was happy or not to see. Though let's be honest, he probably wasn't.

" he-"

" Jordon doesn't want to speak to you, you should go home Mattia," he said interrupting me. He was about to close the door when I put my foot in the gap. I got closer to the door but he still didn't open it fully.

" I know Jordan's at the hospital," he looked up at me a little surprised, " I know what's going on now, I've found out everything,"

He sighed loudly and opened the door fully, " how did you-?" He palmed his face, " listen, she wants you to stop-"

" I know what she wanted," I interrupted him, " I talked to her last night, we've made up. She doesn't want me to stay away anymore,"

His eyebrows furrowed a little, " so why are you here?"

" I just wanted you to know that I'd never hurt Jordon, her having cancer hasn't changed any of my feelings for her. I'm not sure how you feel about that, I don't even know if you like me at all. But I wanna put our differences aside so Jordon doesn't get worried about us all the time."

He nodded understandingly and smiled a little to himself, " so you came here just to tell me that?"

" well yeah," I answered, " I didn't want anything bad between us because Jordon loves you a lot. And I'd hate it if you guys argued with each other over me."

He laughed a little and I was feeling a little nervous because of that, " you're a pretty good guy Mattia." And he patted my shoulder. I looked at him baffled because I never thought I'd hear him say that, " I never thought I'd meet another person that cared about Jordon just as much as I did, but I guess you come as a close second," he said smirking whilst folding his arms," so anything else you wanna say?"

I nodded, " can you give me a lift to the hospital," I said pointing at his car, " security's not letting me in again,"

I thought I was allowed to walk in there freely but I was clearly wrong. I got stopped by security again saying that I wasn't allowed in and I knew then Jordan's dad had something to do with it.

He laughed, " yeah sorry about that, let me just get my keys," and he went back in to go get them. Five minutes later we were in his car on the way to the hospital, " ok, let me establish some rules," he said to me.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, " what? I thought we were over these rules? Do you seriously still not trust me? "

" I trust you, but you're still a teenage boy that's involved romantically with my daughter, so I will have to set some rules," he lectured and he started saying a few.

I palmed my face and sunk down into my seat. Well I can't expect everything to change.

" Jordon you gotta eat," Jordan's dad told her.

I came back from the bathroom, " what's going on?" I asked and both their heads turned to face me.

" she's going for her chemo session soon and she's not ate a single thing," Jordan's dad told me.

" that's because I'm not hungry," she said, with her arms folded.

" Jordon you gotta eat something, otherwise you'll feel drained. You don't need to eat a lot, but you need to eat frequently. It'll make you feel less  nauseous," I knew eating would be a problem for her, because she'd have a sore throat all the time due to her lung cancer. The chemotherapy was going to kill her appetite too, " I know you can't have spicy or fried things. Maybe something bland, like toast?" I asked her.

" how'd you know about this stuff?" She asked me.

" I did some reading on it last night," I was up all night trying to figure out the best ways to help her, " So is toast alright?" I asked her.

She smiled and nodded and I went to the cafeteria to go get it. I couldn't bring her orange juice because she wasn't allowed acidic stuff either, so I just bought her a small chocolate shake. It was cold and it'd keep her energy up so I thought it was best.

It wasn't exactly the best meal but at least she'd have something in her stomach before she went in for her session.

" so your session starts at 10 and finishes at 2 ?" I asked her. She nodded whilst eating.

Jordan's dad checked his watch, " I'm just gonna get some coffee, I'll be back," he told the two of us.

When he left she smirked at me, " so he told me what you said this morning,"I felt my cheeks heat up a little, " you know you didn't have to do that Mattia?"

" but I did, I knew he didn't like me much so I thought I'd clear up some things between us," I told her.

She started laughing and shook her head, " but he did like you," she told me.

" what?" I furrowed my eyebrows a little, " well he had a funny way of showing it," and I folded my arms.

" I know, I was a little shocked too but you should've seen him when I told him I broke up with you. He was so upset,"

I smiled widely, " no way, I don't believe you,"

" you can believe want you want. All I'm saying is dads secretly the biggest fan of our relationship," she said smiling.

Well this changes everything. I felt a little  embarrassed now about before because there really wasn't any need for me to have that talk with him. But at least now I know that he doesn't hate me like I thought he did.

Her dad came back a few minutes later and he looked at me funnily when I grinned at him, " what are you smiling about?"

I shrugged and looked back at Jordon, " nothing,"

A few minutes later Fiona walked in, telling Jordon to follow her.

We all stood up and went to this room, it was quite big and it looked like it could hold more than one patient in there but for now it was just Jordon. A doctor came in and stuck this needle thing into her arm. It had a tube attached to it and it was carrying, what I assumed, the medicine into her.

We sat down next to her and not even a minute had passed when I sighed loudly, " my god, you must've been bored outta your mind here,"

I can't believe she had to sit her for like 4-5 hours.

She nodded, " yup."

" hey, I always thought our conversations were interesting?" her dad said.

She looked at him seriously, " maybe to you dad, but to be honest I couldn't care any less about car motors,"

I started laughing and watched them both argue. I watched her for a little bit and smiled to myself.

Looking at her I just realised how much I admired her. Like she could just be reading a book or humming, or in this case arguing with her dad. There's just something about her that makes me think, 'I just really love you,'

And I really did.
