Flo starts her chores at 7 AM. She sweeps, mops, does laundry, polish and wax, then sweeps again, when she's done, it's 7:15. So she spends the rest of her day painting a mural in the only place in her tower room that doesn't have something on it already. The mural is of her sitting on a hill watching the floating lights. As she stares at the finished painting, she wonders what it's like out where they glow and if her mother will let her go this time. Meanwhile, at the castle, a young man with dark hair, lime green turtleneck, purple jacket, orange pants, and black heeled boots stands on the roof of the castle. He's with two men (he's a teen and they're full grown men, yet he's about the same height as them) one man has tan skin, a thin mustache, and a bejeweled turban. The other man has greyish (I think???) skin and a propeller beanie. The raven haired boy is looking out at the view from the castle roof.

Fluid: Wow, I could get use to a view like this.

Diamond Dazzler: Fluid, come on.

Fluid: Hold on, yep, I'm use to it. Guys, I want a castle.

Diamond Dazzler: We do this job, you can buy your own castle.

The two men lower the boy through a skylight, just over the crown that would have been the princess's. The teen's the only one of the three to fit through the skylight. He takes the crown and escapes out the skylight.

Fluid: *as the trio run from the guards who are now chasing them* Can't you see me in a castle of my own? I mean, I certainly can. Oh, the things we've seen and it's only 8:00 in the morning. Gentlemen, this is a very big day.

Back in the tower,

Flo: *sighs* Ok, this is it. This is a very big day, Coil. *Giggles* I'm going to do it. I'm going to ask her.

Cronella: *from the bottom of the tower* Flo, let down your hair!

Flo: It's time. I know, I know. Don't let her see you.

The chameleon hides behind the curtain that's covering the new painting, blending in for good measure, as Flo goes to the window.

Cronella: Flo, I'm not getting any younger!

Flo: *throwing her hair over a hook* Coming, mother!

She throws down her 70 feet of hair, Cronella loosely ties the hair in a loop and steps in so Flo could pull her up. After she's up, Flo unties the loose knot and takes it off the hook.

Flo: Hi! Welcome home, mother.

Cronella: Oh, Flo, I don't know how you manage to do that everyday, without fail. It looks absolutely exhausting, darling.

Flo: Oh, it's nothing.

Cronella: Then, I don't know why it takes so long. *She laughs while Flo looks upset* Oh, darling, I'm just teasing.

Flo: *unsure* All right... *Perks up* So, mother, as you know, tomorrow is a very big day.

Cronella: *admiring her reflection in a mirror* Flo, look at that mirror. *Flo stands beside her 'mother'* You know what I see? I see a strong, confident, beautiful young woman. *Flo smiles* Oh look, you're here too! *Flo's face falls* I'm just teasing, don't take everything so seriously.

Flo: Ok, so mother. As I was saying, tomorrow is...

Cronella: Flower, mother's feeling a little run down. Would you sing for me? Then we'll talk.

Flo: OH! Of course, mother. *She quickly hands Cronella a brush and her hair, then starts singing fast* 🎵 Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine. Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt, change the fate's design, save what has been lost bring back what once was mine.🎵

Cronella doesn't get time to brush her hair and Flo's hair only glows for a second, not enough time for her to become young again.

Cronella: Flo!

Flo: So, earlier I was saying tomorrow is a really big day, and you didn't really respond, so, I'm just going to tell you. It's my birthday. Ta-da!

Cronella: No, no, no. It can't be. I distinctly remember. You're birthday was last year.

Flo: That's the thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing. Mother, I'm turning 18. And, I wanted to ask, what I wanted for my birthday. Well, what I've wanted for... quite a few birthdays...

Cronella: Flo, please, stop with the mumbling. *Flo looks hurt* You know I feel about mumbling. Blah, blah, blah,...blah. It's very annoying. I'm just teasing, you're adorable. I love you so much, darling.

Flo: Oh, I wanted to see the floating lights.

Cronella: What?

Flo: *revealing her mural* Oh... I was hoping you would take me to see the floating lights.

Cronella: Oh, you mean the stars.

Flo: That's the thing *she pulls a small skylight open* I've charted stars and they're always constant. But these, they appear every year on my birthday, mother. On my birthday. And I can't help but feel that they're for me. I need to see them, mother. And, not just from my window, in person. I have to know what they are.

Cronella: You want to go outside? Oh, why Flo. Look at you, as fragile as a flower. Still a little sapling, just a sprout. You know why we stay up in this tower.

Flo: I know, but...

Cronella: That's right. To keep you safe and sound, dear. Guess I always knew this day was coming. Knew that soon you'd want to leave the nest. Soon, but not yet.

Flo: But...

Cronella: Shh. Trust me, pet. Mother knows best.

She goes on to make Flo scared of the outside world while belittling her.

Cronella: All I have is one request. Flo...

Flo: *happily* Yes?

Cronella: *almost threateningly* Don't ever ask to leave this tower, again.

Flo: *sadly* Yes, mother.

Cronella: I love you very much, dear.

Flo: I love you more.

Cronella: I love you most. *She kisses Flo's forehead* Don't forget it, you'll regret it. Mother knows best.

Flo hangs her hair out the window for Cronella to leave.

Cronella: I'll see you in a bit, my flower.

Flo: I'll be waiting.

Flo watches Cronella leave the glen, her hair still hanging out the window, blowing gently in the breeze.

Flo: 🎵I've got my mother's love, I shouldn't ask for more. I have so many things I should be thankful for. I have everything, except, I guess, a door. Perhaps it's better that I stay in. But, tell me, when will my life begin.🎵

(The song at the end is the first reprise of When Will My Life Begin. According to the soundtrack, there's two reprises.)
