—IT WAS NOW YULE, MEANING THAT THE STONE WAS PLACED IN THE SCHOOL. Draco & Blaise went back to their families, while Rigel stayed for obvious reasons.
Rigel walked to the third floor corridor and immediately conjured a harp for the 3 headed dog, making it easy for him to step into the trapdoor.
The devil's snare was also easy, and so were the other obstacles which he completed within minutes.
Finally, he walked up to Dumbledore's obstacle. He conjured a fake rock and waited infront of the mirror. When he felt something in his pocket, he knew it was the stone, so he put the fake stone in the mirror and rushed out of the obstacles.
••
Rigel knocked on Quirrell's door, waiting for it to open. Quirrell opened the door and made way for Rigel to enter. Rigel closed the door and put up some privacy wards.
"Did you do it?"
Rigel nodded and gave him the stone, Quirrell's eyes widened as he took the stone.
••
The days all went by in a blur as Yule break ended. Quirrell 'mysteriously' disappeared after that. The students had their exams and stuff.
All in all, it was a good year and Rigel got the highest mark in the first years, much to the dismay of a certain muggleborn.
••
"We'll have someone coming over soon-" Sirius informed as Rigel was unpacking, but was cut off when there was a ringing doorbell.
Rigel looked at him in confusion, "Follow me. Behave, Ri." Sirius said and walked downstairs with Rigel following him. He opened the door.
What Rigel certainly didn't expect was..him.
"What the fuck?" Rigel immediately questioned.
••
"How? When? What? Why?" Rigel asked immediately as soon as they were alone.
Voldemort..or as known now by the world, Thomas Gaunt, looked at him in amusement, "I've got a good plan."
"Does this plan include you looking..15?" Rigel asked.
"Technically, I AM 15.." Thomas concluded.
"Actually-"
"Anyways," Thomas interrupted Rigel, "I'm coming to Hogwarts this year. Nobody knows I'm back except my inner circle, Sirius and Remus."
Rigel glared at him, "I told you to stay away from my family, Riddle."
"I'm not going to ask how you know my last name.." Thomas said thoughtfully and then smirked, "And you told me not to harm them. I'm not harming them, am I?"
Rigel narrowed his eyes, "I don't like you."
Thomas merely smirked, "You don't have to." But there was a bit of hurt in his voice, not that Rigel noticed.
"I've never forgiven you for killing my parents."
"Ah," Thomas said, suddenly frowning slightly, "Would it make it better if I go to their grave and apologize?"
"Would it bring them back?"
"No.."
"Then no. It would not." Rigel concluded.
Thomas looked at him for a few seconds and then shrugged slightly, "I'll do something they cannot do anymore. Something they already did once." He tried.
"And what's that?"
"Save your life, when the time comes."
Rigel glared at him, "I do not need you looking out for me."
"But I will."
"I despise you."
"I don't."
"Leave me alone."
"I won't."
"Don't come to Hogwarts."
"I will."
"Fuck you, Riddle. Fuck you." Rigel concluded and left Thomas alone.
••
Rigel walked to the library and started reading a book as Remus walked in, "Oh finally there's someone to read with who won't chew up the books in his animagus form." Remus said as he sat down next to Rigel and started reading a book.
"Wha-"
"Don't even question it." Remus assured him, "Anyways, how was school?"
"Fine.." Rigel said, "I survived a 3 headed dog, deadly keys, a huge human sized deadly chessboard, a stupid riddle that would kill me if I had taken a wrong potion, a fucking troll..And a mirror of erised."
Remus looked at him in shock, "..You were the one to get Voldemort the stone?"
Rigel nodded, "Yes."
Remus chuckled and then looked curious, "What'd you see in the mirror?"
"..Mum and dad." Rigel admitted and saw Remus looking at him with pity, so he immediately went back to his book.
"I'm sorry.."
"It's not your fault. It's his." Rigel said immediately.
"No." Remus said, "It was Peter's. Lily & James knew what they were getting into in this war and they accepted it. They knew Voldemort was after them. But they never knew Peter was after them as well, which is why it wasn't Thomas' fault, it's Peter's."
"..I know." Rigel said reluctantly.
Remus smiled sadly, "But you just want to blame somebody that's easier to blame, don't you?"
Rigel looked slightly ashamed and nodded.
Remus sighed sadly and gave Rigel a hug, who immediately returned it, "You know the light side were just manipulated by that old coot. Tom isn't like that."
Rigel nodded, "I know."
"I trust you will forgive him?"
Rigel didn't answer to that, making Remus sigh.
