It seemed like in a matter of seconds, the moon sank to allow the sun the rise again. Clouds polluted the sky, blocking any sunlight from being able to shine on the dull surroundings.

Y/n's eyes naturally opened at around 7 am to see the comforting interior of wanda's cozy cabin. Instinctively, she stretched her arms out while yawning quietly, causing the small blanket she was given to slide off of her body, leaving her no choice but to get up.

With a sigh, she pushed herself to sit up and rubbed her eyes to force herself to be more awake.

The clothes wanda gave her were some comfortable, slightly loose fitting grey sweatpants, and a plain black t shirt which she thought were good enough to wear on her planned walk to the village in.

For a good five minutes, she sat in her slump while her eyes scanned around with the room with no real purpose. She was mostly just procrastinating to avoid having to argue her way through a goodbye with wanda, but after giving it a few more moments, she didn't think wanda even knew she was awake.

The boots she wore since the crash were still intact and fine to wear, so she slipped one of them on and placed her foot on the corner of the coffee table so she was able to tie her laces.

Despite how it seemed, her plan to rush off wasn't motivated by wanting to leave wanda alone, it was solely the fact that she didn't want to stay long enough to get painfully attached to her.

Just as she finished tying the laces of her first shoe, she heard the door of wanda's bedroom opening followed by some gentle footsteps.

"What do you like for breakfast?" Wanda asked, carrying her empty mug of coffee as she walked through into the kitchen.

Slightly startled by her voice, Y/n turned her head to look at wanda while she propped her other foot up onto the table, "Doesn't matter." She shrugged before tying the laces on her shoe, trying her best to not get tempted to stay.

Knowing something y/n didn't, wanda smirked slightly, "You going somewhere?"

"I really don't wanna go over this again, you know where I'm going." She rolled her eyes before taking her foot off the table and standing up straight and walking to the door.

"Have you not seen the weather?" She asked, nodding her head in the direction of the window for her to look out.

"What?" To answer her own question, she peeled back the thin curtain to look out of it.

Bullets of rain shot down to the ground with a force that sent droplets splashing back upwards. It drenched everything it laid on within seconds, and there was no way anyone would've been able to walk through it for longer than an hour.

With a small scoff, she pressed her head against the wall and closed her eyes to calmly fuel out the frustration she felt. A small part of her was very glad to be able to stay with wanda a little longer, but she pushed that deep down and masked it to prevent getting hurt, or hurting wanda.

Then, from in the kitchen behind her came a small chuckle from wanda before she silenced herself, knowing it was audible to y/n.

Upon hearing the way wanda was getting joy out of her annoyance, y/n stood back up and placed her hand on the doorknob, "What's a little rain gonna do?"

Before she could turn the handle of the door, a huge strike of lightning crashed down into the ground in the distance, sending out a thundering roar which made her wince and flinch back.

Biting back her argumentative side, she turned back around to see wanda with an overly smug look on her face, "or I'll just wait for it to pass."

"Finally, something beat you." She sarcastically mentioned.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She shrugged it off while taking off her shoes, making sure to be cautious of her injured leg.

Wanda saw her beginning to get comfortable again and asked, "How you feeling today? Any better?"

"Those painkillers helped ease the pain enough for me to go to sleep, but it still hurts like a bitch." She simply explained.

With a squint, she corrected herself, "I meant...how are you feeling emotionally?"

Y/n paused and stood up straight after taking off her shoes, looking at wanda with confusion, "what?"

"You let out a lot of emotions last night." She reminded her, "do you feel any different?"

The second she realised where she was trying to go with the conversation, she dismissed it, "Okay- we're ignoring that. That conversation last night never happened... and if you bring it up again, I'm just gonna deny it."

Although part of her was slightly frustrated with how closed off y/n was being, wanda didn't push it, and instead changed the subject, "did you sleep okay?"

"Uh-." She attempted to sum it up, "I fell asleep right away, but I was really tired so that was bound to happen. The couch is comfortable, but it's fucking freezing. The blanket I have isnt the best, I don't wanna sound ungrateful, but do you have any others?"

She shrugged mindlessly, "No."

"You don't own any other blankets?" Her brow cocked.

"Okay, I do, but you're not using it." She quickly warned her, "It's my favourite one, and it stays on the end of my bed. That one is fine, and besides... you're only staying until the rain clears."

"You have a favourite blanket?" Instead of arguing, she just picked out something to joke about.

"It's the perfect blanket. It's soft, it's big, and it's red, so it fits my aesthetic." She explained with a smile. She was clearly very proud of the blanket.

"Right." She nodded, easily letting it go.

While turning her face away, y/n smiled slightly to herself to at how much wanda seemed to like something so seemingly normal.
