Y/n remained looking at her while the panicked thoughts whirled around her head, whereas wanda waited, expecting her to say something else.
She cocked her brow, "Do you want an autograph or your wound fixed?"
Hearing her voice again snapped her out of her panic state and shook her into reality. She put the roll down and tried to begin moving to the door, "I don't want anything from you." But as she was trying to leave, she stumbled ever so slightly.
"Are you sure?" Wanda sarcastically asked, casually watching her struggle.
She held herself up on a cabinet which was beside the door and panted quietly, "I'm sure."
Seeing wanda gave her so many mixed emotions to the point where she had no idea what to feel. She had ideas, like anger, fear, annoyance, hatred. However, in that vulnerable moment, all the clear opinions she had blurred into one. The only clear thing she could decide was that she didn't want to stay with wanda any longer.
"I really don't see any better option for you here. It's not like there's a hospital waiting for you down the street." Wanda told her.
"I'll figure something out." Although the pain in her leg was burning up into every part of her body, she was adamant that she could do it herself.
Wanda tried to watch without stepping in again, but after a few seconds, she'd already given up, "Okay, I can't watch this anymore. Can you just let go of your ego for a few moments so I can help you?"
"I'm not doing this because of my ego." She sneered back at her, "I'm not that arrogant."
"So it's just stupidity then?" She squinted.
Y/n sighed deeply to try and hold back any frustration that she felt was coming, "I think the term 'survival instincts' is a better fit."
She hid a small chuckle, "That's a little over the top, don't you think?"
"Oh, no, I think it's the perfect phrasing considering the stunt you pulled in west view." She confidently stated, even though she knew she was crossing a line.
Luckily, wanda was able to keep her poker face on to hide the fact that she didn't like what she'd just heard, "you don't know the whole story."
"No, you're right, I don't. But is there really any possible way you can excuse mind controlling an entire town for your own benefit?" She rhetorically asked.
As wanda couldn't think of a response, she glanced at her leg then decided where she was going to direct the conversation, "stalling isn't going to make your leg heal faster."
"What makes you think I'm stalling?" She asked, ironically, to continue stalling.
Letting down her guard, wanda began trailing around the space she claimed, clearing her throat as if to say something more. While trying to remain as cautious as she could, y/n's attention glanced over wherever it could to try and find anything that would get her out of the situation.
Her gaze fell upon a rack of kitchen knives resting on the counter just to the side of her, and she fixated on it while mapping out a plan in her head.
When wanda quickly found what she was so focused on, a small chuckle escaped her breath, "do you really think I'm that stupid?"
While her head stayed facing the side, her eyes darted back to burn into wandas, "I'm not thinking anything."
A faint red tint glazed wandas eyes as she titled her head to the side, "do you want me to see if you're lying?"
"Don't." She quickly snapped before breathing quietly to mask how she felt.
"That was quick." She smirked.
"Because I know what you are." It didn't feel right saying it, but she still said it.
That comment caused wanda to drop her sarcastic tone for a slight moment. With another small tilt of her head, she teased a ball of bright red energy between her fingers while her hand rested at her side.
Y/n, noticing the light of her powers, smirked through her pain, "see?"
Then she slipped out of her frustration, pulling the magic back into her fingers and acting like it never happened.
"I'm only gonna ask this one last time." She looked at her sternly, "do you want me to help you with that?"
Biting back her urge to seek help, she caught back her breath and stood up straight, "no."
She was partly impressed that she wasn't giving in so easily, but another part of her was annoyed knowing that she was most likely going to die on her way to the village.
"Alright." Wanda shrugged it off, opening the front door and waving her hand for her guest to leave.
Keeping her stare on wanda, y/n limped out through the door while silencing her small winces of pain. She managed to carefully pull herself down the steps and onto the grass without letting wanda know that her leg was now impacting her entire body.
Wanda crossed her arms at the door and furrowed her brows while watching y/n limp over the grass to get anywhere away from her. At first, no thoughts of wanting to help her came across her mind, so she didn't think too much about it. With a sigh of acceptance, she turned around and walked back into the cabin, closing the door behind her.
Hearing the door close, y/n turned to give the cabin one last look before suppressing her pain with a grunt while she began to walk over to the mountain.
She had absolutely no idea what she was searching for. She didn't know if the village would even have the materials to properly fix her wound, or if they'd have any form of communication that could contact sword to get her taken back.
Her overwhelming need to be independent spoiled her chances of saving herself, which she knew. But after what being too dependent on someone other than herself did to those around her, she vowed to remain as independent as she could.
